Last night I was watching a lecture when the physician said “We’re seeing residents who couldn’t tell you which end is the head and which the tail [pancreas]. I’m hoping these remedial programs work.”
“What?!”, said I …

My wife is ER nurse (30+ years) She has noticed new nurses don’t have the basic training that she went through.
Simple stuff like how to check a pulse or take a BP. They think that you just hook up a machine and bingo.
My sister was a nurse. Also, she finally worked in the hospice program, but she was saying the same thing hook them up to a machine and let it bury the doctor’s mistakes.

Based on the last First Aid course I was at, they are unable to perform basic first aid, cpr or know what a defibrillator does…
Or for that matter, do a basic exam of someone in distress…
So now the M in STEM is becoming the A in Arts – touchy, feely, doesn’t matter the quality or the truth, crap. Understand that when I say this, I have a degree in Arts as well as Engineering so I use both sides of my brain. And my Arts degree was largely in ancient Greek, and Hebrew with associated courses in archaeology, ancient Middle Eastern history, so while there were slack courses in it (like philosophy and ethics), the bulk was not. And as an applied sciences graduate, I have very strong feelings about the competence of professional bodies and their adherents.

Back in the good old days, Liberal Arts graduates in places like Oxford had to know Latin and Greek before they got in, because they were expected to be reading the classics in their original languages. That type of degree was no degree for slackers.
I have run into doctors like this. one never got fired even after misprescribing drugs. the other disappeared from the clinic. the third forgot to wait for anesthetic to take effect before performing my vasectomy. I think he took my promises to heart.
all three were foreign “trained”. one from somalia, one eastern european and the guy with the knife was saudi arabian.
I just read the Daywalker case and the accusations made without cite or evidence are about what you would expect. They went so far as to accuse a witness of being a KKK sympathizer with nothing to back that up. They exclaimed that the Court was biased. They claimed that the defendant destroyed and fabricated documents.
All of this was claimed without anything to back it up other than a promise that evidence would be forthcoming. It never arrived.
If you think about the arena it’s easier to understand what’s going on. While it was comparatively simple to complete the “March through the Institutions” on a generic level. Infiltrating medicine is significantly harder and requires more dedication (and at least some talent). As a result, they haven’t fully acquired that profession, and there aren’t sufficiently placed individuals to tote the agenda.
I’ll give you an example of and industry that has just been acquired in full by the left in their incessant march. The Airline industry. You might have noticed the massive increase in errors and near misses over the recent past. You might, also, have heard the various heads of airlines stating that their primary goal in hiring a new pilot is now diversity. One of the reasons the airline industry was a hold-out to leftist acquisition was that pilots traditionally come from discharged military (at least in the US). Now, however, the management portions of airlines have been sufficiently staffed by leftists, and an already ailing industry is about to get much worse, even less efficient, and more dangerous. They had solidified their hold on most aspects of a working airport in the past, but now they are putting the finishing touches on pilots and Air Traffic Controllers. Incidentally, this coincides conveniently with the Green New Deal’s ambition to remove transatlantic commercial flight from the human lexicon.

I know of two examples of young men from my town who were turned down for medicine. They are brilliant people who had not only the highest marks in there school but some of the highest marks in the province.
The requirement they fail to meet? They were born white and male. They have not butchered their bodies to pretend to be something they are not.
This is what Canada has become thank to Trudeau and people like him. Get out well you can. It’s fast becoming a country no one will want to be part of.

Whatever the figure there should be a running total some where, along the lines of the Rush Limbaugh devise chronicling how long Iran held Americans hostage. “America held hostage, day __”. Or, perhaps McDonalds marquee is a better example. Canada One Million Exterminated…

She became hostile when she wasn’t promoted from PGY4 of her residency and instead was demoted to PGY 3 citing “Patients at risk” and a “requires attention” evaluation for doing so which apparently automatically boots you into a remedial program. (I’m assuming PGY is post graduate yada yada yada. I don’t know I’ll defer to the experts on this board)
Whole bunch of other stuff as well and she’s requested a Jury trial so it’s anyone’s guess how this will go.
