Former editor-in-chief of The Recount, Slade Sohmer, was charged for the possession and distribution of child pornography, according to Massachusetts authorities. The 44-year-old reportedly disseminated “hundreds of child pornography images and videos,” as reported by The Berkshire Eagle. Sohmer, who also worked as a camp counselor for a New York City-based nonprofit, was arrested at his residence in Otis, Massachusetts after a search warrant led to the seizure of his electronic devices. The former editor pleaded not guilty to two charges of possession and two charges of dissemination of child pornography upon his release on a $100,000 bail.
The Recount is a far-left site founded by The Circus’s John Heilemann, who hired Sohmer as editor-in-chief. While Sohmer’s LinkedIn page still lists him as the Editor-in-Chief, The Recount has recently been sold to a far-left Gen-Z news network and its “Team” page is now blank. In 2018, Buzzfeed appeared to celebrate Sohmer discussing his sexuality with 10-year-olds.

I think many on the left are sincere. But the left cloaks itself in rectitude. They claim to exist on a higher moral plane than the rest of us. That’s the perfect camouflague for a sociopath.
Leftists always think that they are better, think better, and know better than everyone else. They also think that they can do more than everybody else.

You know, like slaughtering … and yes … raping … Israeli citizens in cold blood … the “morality” of “the victims of colonializing Israeli genociders” are allowed to do ANYTHING in response … you know, just like the American Indians murdered, raped, kidnapped, and scalped … settlers. Any and all defensive actions are “moral”. Don’t believe my “hyperbole”? Just look at our city streets and our college campuses! That’s moral relativism in action. Demanding a cease fire … aka … allow Hamas Terrorism to recover and rally.

Sadly that’s entirely true. Particularly in California, the Pacific coast including British Columbia and New York State. But KM is also correct in stating “I think many on the left are sincere. But the left cloaks itself in rectitude.”
Good people whomever they are and of whatever beliefs tend to be overwhelmed by the fringe of fanatics. It is not all people on the left who accept and justify what Hamas has done; it’s a relatively forceful, vocal handful. There is I think a clear need to separate most of those on the left from the malignant highly militant ones who truly make the ultra-Left unendurable.
It’s not just the liberal coasts.
The rot has spread to the entire country. Michigan, illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota… all lost.

So, The News Movement (TNM) acquired The Recount. And the founder of TNM is now the brand new CEO of the Washington Post. I’m not making any accusations. ;D But, there is something to be said for the company you keep and those that finance your endeavors. Especially when The Recount shed a lot of staff and, basically, had a fire sale just a little over a year ago. Just saying.
