Bill Grahn: It turns out that it’s easier to make a profit, if your business doesn’t have any costs.
I’ve mentioned before how hundreds of nonprofits sprung up overnight (or reactivated) in the early days of the pandemic to join in the free-food distribution game that devolved into the Feeding Our Future scandal. I’ve documented how the final price tag is likely to exceed $500 million.
Few nonprofits bothered to file required tax returns to document their efforts. But I’ve managed to track down a baker’s dozen and they tell fascinating stories.

Some expenses were over 1 million dollars.
Must have used that money to buy Soup Kitchens with a big screen TV sports subscription.
I’m in the wrong business where do you get a license to steal?
Becoming a politician is a good place to start.
Indeed, despite their “I could do so much better in the private sector” claims to the contrary.

Yes, But unless you’re a Democrat you have to pay people something or promise to do something you can’t deliver to get their votes.
Democrats have it made, all they have to do is promise other democrats they’re going to get into office and do something stupid and they’ll get their votes. SUCKS
The rest of us will dutifully pay our taxes.
So all of those “profits” were taxed at 100% right, because how can a “not-for-profit” have “profit”?
