    I’m not sure if the aid will be Canadian or American $20’s, $50’s and $100’s, silver and gold and/or the number of briefcases or suitcases required to deliver the aid.

      2. Same here. I came into Canada as a cow milker. At the time, it was the most sought after skill by Immigration. So I was granted landed immigrant status with little to no obstacles. I had a nearly perfect score to immigrate.

    1. The real, HUGE disadvantages with hydrogen are legion; the three big ones ( – IMHO – ) are:

      1) It’s very hard to contain; being the smallest element it can leak out of anything, and it attacks metal (“hydrogen embrittlement”) so if it’s to be stored under pressure, what’re you going to make the containers out of?

      2) In useable & transportable quantities, it’s got almost no energy to it; the energy in a fuel is in proportion to its weight, which is one reason diesel trucks are better than gasoline trucks at towing things. A 45-gallon drum’s worth of liquid hydrogen weighs 50 pounds, so there ain’t a lot of “there” there and a gas-tank-full wouldn’t take you very far; and

      3) The process of making hydrogen, which greeeen-weeeenies envisage as wind turbines pumping their excess (i.e., when the wind is blowing that day) electricity into electrolysis tanks to break-down water into hydrogen and oxygen, is about 28% efficient – BIG losses in both the wind-turbine AND electrolysis vectors. MASSIVE wasted energy, out of an intermittent and supremely expensive system that ain’t giving us all that much energy to begin with.

      1. It’s okay joe – as far back as the late 1700’s, some bright individual did the math. Earth is outside the sun’s liquid water band (i.e., the distance at which water on the planet’s surface won’t either freeze solid or boil-off), and all that water vapour (and all the other greenhouse gases) serve as our “blanket”. It’s been calculated that without greenhouse gases, Earth would suffer a temperature decline totalling 32 degrees Celsius. So without water vapour, our little blue-green planet would be a little white planet.

        And the deep hatred the greeeen weeeenies feel for CO2 is equally amusing. John Kerry, “Climate Advisor to the President of the United States”, declared that regressing to some arbitrary, earlier amount of CO2 isn’t good enough – we must eradicate all CO2 from our atmosphere. Well, ya’ see… virtually all our plants operate via photosynthesis – and below 150 parts per million (ppm) of CO2 in the atmosphere, photosynthesis stops. Then all our plants die, and everything that eats plants – or eats other things that eat plants – starves to death. So removing all the CO2 would turn our little blue-green planet into a little blue-brown planet on which there’s no longer anything alive; and we’d at least have the satisfaction of knowing while we starve to death, that all the greeeen weeeenies are starving to death too.

          And if you add up all a lawyer’s billable hours that they charge to multiple clients, you find there are 26 to 30 hours in a day. Who knew?

          1. And that’s a bedevilling problem of the whole world at the moment – most (i.e., almost all) of our lawmakers in government, are lawyers. And lawyers excel at talking by the hour, switching sides instantly when the ‘other side’ looks more profitable, and costing their clients (i.e., in our case, Canadian taxpayers) far more than they can afford to pay.

            – Oh yeah – and leaving behind an unholy, indecipherable legalese’d mess that nobody but lawyers (and d@mn few of them) can understand, and walking away laughing and counting their money. Churchill said “Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm” – you could substitute “lawyers” and “governments” in that quote for “success”.

      Does this guy think we should have bombed the Soviet Union into the Stone Age like we did with Germany and Japan? We dealt with those nations by conquering them and occupying them. Should we have put a military governor into the Kremlin?

      He does definitely blame George HW Bush for the War between Russia and Ukraine in 2022. (Personally, I blame Bush 1 for lots stupid stuff, including his sons.). Amazingly Because there is nothing, absolutely nothing, anyone, anywhere, anyhow could ever prevent the war after Bush somehow screwed it all up 30 years ago. No wars until now, but they are still Bush’s fault!!!

      1. Well, there was no civil war for quite some time, but the advent of slavery, finally caused a very large war that had and still has a lasting effect..

        Bush caused a great deal of grief for Iraq and American soldiers that off themselves at an alarming rate.

        Think Basra rebellion. 150K murdered by Saddam and the Republican guard.

        And that is a very long way from all the grief that was caused and still continues.

    It sure seems like Hamas’ biggest and most vocal supporters are on Ivy League Campuses.
