  1. Cheap money brings inflated assets. It swelled the value of many equities. It led the Canadian government to borrow excessively and historically. It created an appetite for borrowing among the masses, with the result being a real estate frenzy and price explosion.

On top of rate expectations, bonds are being hit by lower demand. Large investors have been selling long-term debt for shorter maturities which pay more as yields bubble higher (an inverted yield curve). Plus central banks have been rolling debt off their balance sheets, letting bonds mature without replacing them (quantitative tightening). And, of course, outfits like the Canadian (and American) government keep pumping out new bonds to raise cash to cover budget deficits. So we have more supply, less demand, sustained inflation and global turmoil.

    Results:

High-paying, low-risk bonds are a screaming bargain and suck money out of equity markets where volatility lives. Consider buying in.Second, high debt yields mean more costly loans and mortgages, which potentially leads to real estate chaos.Millions of renewers will face vastly higher monthly payments. Some will be forced to bail Sustained high rates lock out critically-important first-time buyers.Inventory grows as sellers face falling demand and eventually have to reduce prices. But nothing is more affordable, since normalized financing charges are three times what they were 18 months ago.

And now we have the Israel-Hamas war. Oil going up. A US carrier group steaming towards the hotspot. A hard-right, Trump-endorsed radical Republican set to be the new Speaker. Less aid for Ukraine and an emboldened Russia. And while all this goes on, misled people obsess about Klaus Schwab, surveillance cameras in street lights, vaccines and traffic restrictions.

    Get a grip, folks.

    1. Certainly gives the impression that a GREAT DEPRESSION is just about upon arrival.
      Everything breaks…

      1. Jojo, inflation the currency by any means possible is always a recipe for disaster. Apparently “well educated” economists are no longer aware of that.

    2. Garth Turner was kicked out of the Conservative Party in 2006 and joined the #Libranos.
His name has graced the good pages of SDA back then… I think by me! lol… something about his empty campaign headquarters?

      Hope he’s jabbed.
*and not a personal jab at you Jojodogfacedboy…

So what is the point of worrying about Foreign Wars, the Economy, and personal freedom then? It is the same people creating the mess both domestically and internationally.

Maybe, just maybe the taxpaying citizens who end up funding and dying to make the worlds slavers rich should obsess just a little and demand we clean our own house first.

  2. It appears RFK Jr. is running third party or Independant. Most likely a win for Trump.

  3. I am as sure Liberal MP Ahmed Hussen is telling the truth, as I am of Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland…

Federal government says it will ensure Canadian aid doesn’t go to Hamas

After all, he only gives away $8 Billion a year in “foreign aid” to the rest of the world; it’s now his money… it used to be ours!

Yes, that Monsef, the former Liberal MP, who referred to the Taliban as brothers, and who became a refugee under the false claim of being an Afghan when in fact her family are Iranians well connected to the present Iranian regime.
