He Admires Their Basic Dictatorship

Dan Knight;

In an era where information flows as swiftly as a river’s current, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seems eager to dam the waters. Many have suggested that Trudeau and his administration are determined to dictate the narrative, controlling the free flow of information in the digital realm. This, critics argue, is not only a threat to the democratic principles of free expression and access to information but also a misdirection from more pressing issues plaguing Canadians.

With a nation grappling with skyrocketing inflation, rising interest rates, exorbitant fuel prices, and grocery bills that pinch harder each day, Trudeau’s apparent focus on controlling the digital narrative seems out of touch. For a generation that grapples with the disheartening reality that homeownership might remain an unattainable dream, their frustration and resentment grow. Yet, every time their voices rise in criticism, they are quickly dismissed or labeled.[…]

In a world burgeoning with diverse digital content, a world where the power of voice is no longer the monopoly of a select few, we witness a potentially perilous encroachment by the CRTC, wielding legislative control over the once-free realm of podcasts. The unregulated charm of podcasting, its organic and unfiltered essence, stands at risk of being suppressed by the looming spectre of the CRTC’s regulatory machinations, seemingly imbued with the motives of the Trudeau government to infiltrate and manipulate the narratives within social media platforms.

The Trudeau government’s subtle quest for control within the social media realm, under the guise of the revamped Broadcasting Act and the nuanced ordinances of the CRTC, is indicative of a larger, ominous agenda. The alleged oversight and regulation, cloaked in terminologies of caution and prudence, are not mere protective measures but perhaps are intricate designs of an overarching governmental grip on the digital information landscape.

  1. Dan, please send that comment to Pierre Pullover and tell him he can use it at his next press conference.

    1. Pierre already said when he is elected he will trash this.
Irony is…he won’t get elected if the Turd controls the messaging during next election.
      But hey…he sounds tough,eh?

      1. Well, Turd controlled the messaging during the last election….and he is trying it now but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore.

  2. Okay, a drug dog would not have been on the plane because of diplomatic immunity. However, TurdHole could have been obviously buzzed. A sure sign of cocaine use, if TurdHole were not buzzed when he finally made an appearance, is constantly (and annoyingly) sniffling his nose.
Since the Lieberals called it disinformation so quickly makes it obvious. Change my mind.

    1. Heh. It seems to be a universal coke user’s thing. You never know, there could be some more hanging out in my nose if I just sniff a few more times.

    2. The nose knows.
And if you have been in the life along the way, then you easily see the tell tale, nose-centric signs.
Similar to a catholic sign of the cross, but signed along the bridge, then nostrils.
      A Nostrum tradition.
For reference, look to the Kiwi chick, and Blackie, or, hell, even Hunter.
      Have a nice day,

    3. Speaking as a person who has crossed the Canada-US border 3,000 times (probably closer to 4,000), border security tend to get carried away with their job and overstep all the time (I like and respect all of them). So they may very well have had the dogs on the plane or sniffing luggage as it was unloaded. Diplomatic immunity would come into play after the drugs were discovered.

  3. So companies have to register with the CRTC… or what? What happens when a company just ignores this?

  4. This kind of explains the orneriness of everyday folk in an earlier post. People don’t like being lied too, and even more, resent being accused of something that isn’t near an accurate assessment or relevant.
We can laugh at the lies, but being accused of something, WITHOUT EVIDENCE, gets very tiresome.

  5. In other Liberal corruption news, the new speaker of the house was charged with a federal ethics violation back in Feb.

    1. L – “was charged with federal ethics offence violation back in Feb.”

      Meaning: the above violation is now considered a qualification for a federal political appointment. Trudeau is now the example that all are called to emulate;
he is the prophet of 21st Century political corruption and parasitism.

He’s even paving the road to perdition. In 8 years, he’s made Canada of 1867-1967, the
land of O’Canada, formerly “the true north strong and free” into a fetid swamp.

  6. I’ve noticed a big change in on line searches in the recent couple of weeks. The amount of CBC and Global links that come up now where once it was a sampling that was most relevant, is now horrific propaganda.

  7. (((This, critics argue, is not only a threat to the democratic principles of free expression and access to information but also a misdirection from more pressing issues plaguing Canadians.)))

If you fancy yourself a critic, then it behooves you to comprehend the subject matter. This is NOT a misdirection from more pressing issues. The issues of control of speech and “more pressing matters” are directly related in that the government wants to use the former to take away your ability to address (or even discuss) the latter. Here’s an example: The Biden Administration insisted that there was no recession….then went about changing the definition of “recession.” The major media outlets allowed him to do that while the social media outlets submarined anyone challenging the issue by shadow blocking and outright banning them. Trudeau wants that power on an across the board basis (streaming services, blogs, websites, web hosts vlogs etc). The result would be pure propaganda where you not only wouldn’t be able to hold a contrary opinion. You wouldn’t even know about the topic of which you might have such an opinion (because it would not be reported to you by design).

I’m tell you right now….this is the hill to die on.

    1. I agree. There’s this, “The Trudeau government’s subtle quest for control…”

There’s nothing subtle about it. It’s overt censorship right out in the open. This is the formal and legal attempt to turn Canada’s media into the new Pravda. As for this,

“I’m tell you right now….this is the hill to die on.”

We all really know what should die on that hill, don’t we? Ancient Athens had the right idea of how to dispose of politicians who became inconvenient.

    2. Aye!!!

At some point, we would have to stand up and refuse to back down.

I agree that this may be it. It is certainly our first stop.

      But we won’t die.

      We will win!

  8. Playing to his base.. His fan club.. The people he supports with our tax dollars.. They are all giddy at the thought of TORMENTING their political enemies.. Unthinkable stuff for a right leaning person.. Mothers milk for the Trudeau regime..

They do it because they can.. From lockdowns and mandates all they way to 1984 censorship.. All of it for us that so happens to benefit them the most..

A democracy is particularly open to this treat.. Bedrock political support never goes away.. 25% still support this guy..

  9. It seems that the population is completely and utterly unable, unwilling, ignorant of the totalitarian so called ‘Liberal’ government of this country.
It is apparent that the dicktator (sic) and his henchmen can pretty much destroy freedom at will.
There is no opposition from politicians or general public.
Heh … if general public actually knew whereof what the hell is going on.

  10. Respect muh authority.
    dear Leader is never wrong.
    dear Leader loves you.
See what you made dear Leader do..
Cause Dear Leader is never wrong, its your fault he has to punish you, steal your property and control your very speech.
    Dear Leader loves you..
And for all their attempts to control the narrative, the citizen will still mock their idiocy.
The Emperor is not just naked, parading arround as if he wears the finest costumes.
The Emperor of Can Ahh Duh is a full blown NAZI blowhard.
Dumb all over and a little ugly on the side.
Liberals and their NDP sidekicks made this happen, with the fake opposition of their pseudo conservative comrades..
Idiots who claim that they rule over us,as our consent to be lectured and imposed upon by such fools has long gone away.
Our enemies are loudly and proudly self identifying.
    This is good.
When these fools realize there is zero consent for their continued existence, from Productive Canadians, they will declare a permanent State of Emergency…or is that Thuggery..

They will be Protecting Democracy,by making sure no one has any anywhere..
For “Democracy” is too precious to be wasted on people who reject the sacred narrative.

Oh well ,the Libtards made their choice..
They could have chosen to just leave us alone.
    They rejected this option.
So they have no grounds to complain, now that they have our attention.
They really are not going to enjoy these “New Rulz”.

  11. This is an open violation of just about every “freedom” delineated in our “constitution. If we had real courts and a real constitution this would never stand.

  12. Media has been carrying the lefts water for years and censoring the right.

    Just more official now.

  13. Hey it’s been great chatting with y’all over the years, but seems to be coming to an end.

  14. I’ve read several articles over the last week all discussing Trudeau’s control of digital media. While they all bring something new and unique to the discussion, they all condemn Trudeau and his authoritarianism.

  15. I worked at Call-Net in the 1990’s, when deregulation of long distance was still not here. Call-Net, for those who don’t know. offered reduced cost on long distance service (in 1990, during the business day, a ONE-MINUTE call from Toronto to Vancouver was $0.90), and also offered to give your company details on who made that call, when, and how much it cost, information you could not get from your phone company at any price. The latter data was important for accounting departments, who wanted to allocate long distance costs accurately, and not just put them into ‘overhead’.

The CRTC said “Nuh-uh”. First off, “cheaper” is not a valuable benefit to society, according to the CRTC, and being able to accurately allocate costs was “not important”. Three times the CRTC turned off Call-Nets lines. Three times the Mulroney gov’t had to put in Orders-in-Council to overturn that decision, before finally ending up telling the CRTC they *had* to come up with a workable format for competition. The rest is history, and now long distance is “too cheap to meter”; most of us pay a flat fee of $5/month and call all over.

The CRTC is not the friend of the consumer. It is a tool of entrenched corporate interests to defend their turf, make competition expensive and difficult, and reduce innovation. PP would be well advised to get rid of it.

  16. Yea, nothing says tyranny quite like controlling the flow of information under the guise of modernization. If they can halt anything remotely that challenges their twisted upside down ethos they’ll do it. The left have been watering at the mouth via controlling free speech and free thought, they aren’t hiding their agenda anymore because so many Canadians loath what the political left stands for. I doubt many companies will register or cough up a detailed list of subscribers and in the end the left will try and force us back to the three big cable monopolies..
