When one lives under the fantasy of Nazis being somewhere on the right of the political spectrum, this is the result. Those on the left use the term as a slur, despite it far more aptly applying to themselves.

That’s not true at all, several “dumbed down” people on SDA have been smearing Conservatives who oppose support for the NATO war as commies or “pootin supporters” since Feb 2022. In full goose-step with their Liberal Progressive globalist allies.
They do remain quite silent when Tucker Carlson, Trump, Viktor Orbán and many other well established conservative voices call for the same opposition to the war, but that simply proves their disingenuous nature.
I see your point, though I would have categorized those examples as people smearing “Conservatives” as stupid rather than being commies. In effect, they’re saying that if you hold that position then you are helping the commies, and therefore you must be stupid.
I believe that the forces behind Russia and Ukraine (both led by Freemasons) are on the same side, and it is for that reason that I also oppose the war or aiding either side. The real enemy are the POSs behind the curtain, profiting off the conflict in more ways than simply financially.

What really blew me away was when the parliament announced that the 98 Year old Ukrainian soldier fought the Russians in WW2 and no one suggested that during WW2 /Russia was fighting along side Canada and Britain and the US against the German Nazis.
I was briefly confused but soon realized that our government has no idea about what went down in WW2.

What’s wrong is equating fighting against Soviets for Ukraine as just being a Nazi. That’s not fair. Ukraine was between Eastern and Western Sozialismus. A rock and a hard place.

Fighting against the soviets for Ukraine freedom is one thing, there were many partisan groups that tried it… the problem comes when you volunteer to join the waffenSS to fight the enemies of germany like the Poles…
While I agree that being a Ukrainian during WWII would have been very very rough there is a huge difference between fighting for Ukraine’s independence from the Soviets and being a part of the Waffen SS and wholeheartedly slaughtering Jews and Gypsies and other “undesirables”. There were more than two options on the table.
Except they just had to take the opportunity to join the SS and kill some Jews. Yeah, the good fight. A pox on both their houses as Shakespeare said. We have no business in this conflict.

An agreement was made that no nuclear missiles would be placed in (former) East Germany. There was no way that NATO could even consider moving eastwards at that time because the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact still existed.
When the Soviets withdrew from Germany to allow re-unification, Germany was taken into NATO in order to assure the Russians that Germany would be controlled and would never again be a threat. The US and their NATO allies also guaranteed that NATO would go no further east. Not that Russia could be trusted any more than NATO. A pox on both their houses.

I have learned that Waffen SS brigades were formed throughout Europe specifically for non-German volunteers. There has been some mention of a Wehrmacht division which presumably Mr Hunka could have joined instead, but there is no mention of the conditions under which admission to either the Wehrmacht or the Waffen divisions would be granted.
If Mr Hunka participated in any of the atrocities of which the 14th Waffen SS is convicted, then he deserves our severest censure. If, on the other hand, he was elsewhere, then let it be.

My understanding (which may be defective) is that the Nazi Party was a national party in the strictest sense. Young Hunka might have been a fine young fellow, and the Nazis may have liked him, but as a Slav he could not be a Nazi. He could, however, swear allegiance to the German Fuhrer and serve Germany in her armed forces as she considered it expedient, and I gather that’s just what he did. It was no concern of his if he got his orders from the Army or the Party.
Was he a Nazi? Who’s asking? The Nazi Party Pension Fund? Or Comrade Stalin?
He fought under Nazi discipline for Nazi purposes. He had good reasons to do it. I think it entirely wrong to treat him as a war criminal. I don’t consider him morally blameworthy. But he is not the man Parliament should be applauding as a Canadian hero, especially a Parliament controlled by ideologues obsessed with fantasy Nazis. You cannot insist on the essential, utter evil of all Nazism no matter how faint or fancied, and then applaud the SS.
