No Water for You

Castanet- Westwold farmers’ fight for water catches ear of BC United leader

Drought conditions in the North Okanagan are becoming a political football.

Following a fish protection order placed on the Salmon River on Aug. 16, forage crop farmers in the Westwold area are crying foul.

“People need to wake up … their food doesn’t come from a supermarket, it all starts right here,” farmer Russel Clemiston says in a video documentary.

The order comes as water levels reach critical lows.

It doesn’t affect water pulled from the river for personal, market vegetable or livestock use – but forage crop growers were ordered to turn off the taps completely.

“We depend on forage to feed our cattle, we’re not doing it for fun,” Clemiston said.

Some have been defying the order, and resource officers have been going from farm to farm to enforce it.

  1. Be it resolved that Kevin Falcon and his entire party are assholes.

Don’t be fooled by this pathetic little tit.

I wonder if they are all up to date on their booster? About 6 or 7 required to be fully vaccinated.

“Be it resolved that one year after the anti-vaccine protests in Ottawa and communities including Victoria, South Surrey, Kelowna and Cranbrook, this House denounces the freedom convoy protests and affirms that public health orders, including vaccine requirements, have been an essential tool in B.C.’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the motion read.

      1. Yup, no doubt about it.
Climate Change fanatics too, fully bought into the Carbon Tax as well.
The Liberal/Uniteds are not our friends, just NDP LITE.

    1. Someone wants to destroy your food supply you charge him with crimes against the people and hang them.

    2. The corrupt BC Libranos are the same criminals that imposed the money laundering scheme known as “globull warming” taxes.
The reverse Robin Hood where the corrupt Government steals from the poor to give to their Corporate allies.
Have emissions gone down since this punitive theft was imposed? Of course not, theyve gone up.
The BC Conservative Party is the only option between the radical Globalists of the NDP and the BC United Libranos and they dont stand a chance of forming Government…. BCers like communism it seems.
Haiti North from coast to coast to coast.

  2. In for a penny?.. The people who overstepped their bounds will never open a investigation into themselves.. From Justin (those people) all the way down to the local school board.. They were the good guys and they got the power to prove it..

Politics?.. The supporters are all about the up front intensions and the detractors are all about the back end fallout.. Self interest is somewhere in the middle.. Expecting the ‘Left Coast” to rethink and hand a major scandal to their political enemies is not going to happen.. They would rather die.. Or should I say they would rather you die.. Politics, right?..

  3. And the war on farmers continues. Don’t know why but the smug NRO numbnut at 3:40 with the heavy Australian accent kinda made my blood boil.

  4. We’re about to hit the start of Fall, and I’ll go out on a limb and……predict…..rain! A little at first, then followed by more and heavier rainfall. I dunno, Fall and rain seem to happen on a regular basis, like once (sometimes twice) a year. I guess the rain will plan to avoid the Salmon river this fall. S/

TPTB are attacking farmers in Europe and North America, something about nitrogen reduction and drastic reduction of cattle herds to save our dearly beloved planet. Funny how it’s managed to take care of itself for millions of years, and we humans are just a current addition of the flora and fauna existing on it. I would consider this as a new provincial incremental addition to the great reset plans. Remember, this has been carefully planned for decades, with multiple contingencies for course changes as the reset unfolds. They will grab and use any useful straw or thread that presents itself.

You can either stick your head in the sand (cognitive dissonance) or you can make preparations. It is happening whether you believe it or not, and they are committed, therefore we must be just as committed against them! Quiet below the radar opposition with sand and rocks in the gears, and watch your six, work with and protect those you can trust. JMHO

    1. And here’s what the “fish benevolent societies” have never adequately explained to me … How did fish survive during droughts before mankind showed up? As if we have prehistoric river flow data and fish counts to compare?

  5. Evil canadians have successfully taken over every level of government and they’re sadistic psychopaths.

  6. “Some have been defying the order, and resource officers have been going from farm to farm to enforce it.”

It would be so very easy to set up a warning network to thwart the cow cops. That hasn’t happened yet, but it is early days.

  7. Rivers are in the public domain. In BC that not only usually means publicly owned but possibly Indian owned exclusively. The public ownership circle-jerk is bad enough – (“invaluable” fish vs agriculture} through the lenses of the urban electorate and NGO hysteria pimping industry, but add the legal community-nurtured expectations of, and “bipartisan” political pandering to, the notion of all Crown land (and water) somehow belonging to the collective genetic legacy of stone age people who had no words in their vocabulary for ownership and you get BC today. Welcome to the social cannabalism of group rights.

    1. We all own everything. Indians do not own anything more than I do. We are all indigenous to the planet, no one is f***** special.

      1. “We all own everything” means we all own nothing as you can’t own what you can’t control and public ownership is entirely out of the control of the individual. Democracy only allows mob rule and that’s what we have now. Individual property rights are basic to virtually all other natural rights. That’s why Trudeau left it out of his constitution.

      2. Driving through the area I have seen a drastic increase in the number and size of irrigation rigs down there. It is no surprise if the
Water supply is running low. I don’t know how excited I can get over farmers down there losing one of their cuts of horse hay…

        1. I did a little looking, apparently there was a warm spell at the beginning of summer that melted more of the snow pack than usual. As a result the streams are going dry. Can’t do anything about that now but the local government could look into creating reservoirs so that if this happens in the future farmers and residents will have something to draw on.

          1. Won’t happen. How do I know? That’s precisely what our problem is, and has been for the past three decades here on the lower Sunshine Coast (BC). The asshats responsible here REFUSE to build more reservoirs, instead counting on water meters to force conservation. It’s all ideology. In the meantime new home construction is booming; i guess the folks moving here don’t use the toilet, shower, wash clothes and dishes or garden.
If you follow this mindset all the way to the origin you’ll end up at the UN.

      3. The indigenous peoples had ONE theory of land ownership … and ONE only – murder and rape the people living in the land you want. Drive them off the land. There. Now you “own” it. As IF the native peoples all “shared the land” … Puhleeze.

Then the white folk showed up … and practiced the same policy. But the white folk also created an organized system for buying and selling land … and mapping it. You know, things that can be done once you have a written language and can do math … among other scholarly things.

  8. BC has the worst performing economy per capita than almost any other G7 jurisdiction. Simply put they produce almost nothing except for spoiled ill-informed communist pussies. Ontario’s GDP per capita is worse than Arkansas and Mississippi, the 2 worst performing US States.

    1. Tell you what, you try to get a business going in Ontario. Doing anything. Good freaking luck, dewd. It’s like the whole structure of governments, REITs, and the law is a giant school of piranha, coming to devour your capital.

You built up a nest-egg, you want to start a day-car/machinist shop/retail store/consulting business/trucking business/greasy spoon/or even sell frickin’ water, suddenly there are a hundred guys with their hand out demanding payment.

It is nearly impossible to make money in Ontario. The only people who do are the ones hooked up with the regime. They get all the deals, everybody else gets burned. Corruption, straight up. Nobody can build/make/sell anything for a profit except the big guys, they get a special deal.

Which is why real estate is so expensive now. Flipping houses is the ONLY path to wealth left for the common, not-hooked-up individual. Bury yourself in debt and flip your way to some sort of decent profit.

When that last little ray of hope vanishes, things could get unpleasant here.
