  1. So that’s the second ship sunk by electric car fires. In case of war just drop electric cars on the decks of enemy ships. Fact – you can’t extinguish electric car fires.

    1. Plus…
The insurance companies were already talking of pulling it’s insurance coverage due to how expensive they are becoming.

      1. Something tells me that private ownership of ANY motorized vehicle, like meat consumption, a reliable power grid, non-volatile wealth, or access to any meaningful health care, will be exclusive to our dictators-in-waiting, and those close to them.

And those few won’t care whether their limos are ICE vehicle or electric, what happens to the electrical infrastructure other than their personal power plant, or how many megatons of carbon their lifestyles will generate.

Or what the peasants might think of all they will have lost, and least of all what mood they might or might not be in as they adjust to their new lifestyle…

  2. Tried posting a link a few days ago, at a rally event in England (Lydden Hill), a team called Special ONE who does electric conversions of classics, had literally everything burn up. Required a huge effort to contain and the event was cancelled.

  3. On 25 electric cars onboard…

where is the tug to drag it away from the “protected bird habitat”?
Is the power generator still going to power the pumps?

  4. “Who killed the electric car?”
Sorry … the CORRECT phrasing should be:
Who was killed by the electric car?

  5. Wonko, thanks for the link. Amazing, not amazing that EV fires are basically seldom reported in MSM. The incidence of battery fires will increase as the governments push the sale of these vehicles in Western countries all in the name of globull warming. This among other things is the result of politicians bending to the demands of vocal minorities. Globull warming, pandemic, reparations, Stop Oil, the list is endless of the number of minorities that are inflicting untold damage to our society. When are we going to realize that we are being herded into a society that is being ruled by unproductive morons that never learned how to tie their shoe-laces.

    1. And every last one of them has an evil, sick, disgusting, diseased, racist hatred of white Western Civilization

  6. Think of the copy writers.
Same story, different date and ship name..
The last one of these, those were Mercedes Electric Vehicles also?
    I sense a trend.
How many will burn before the Insurers of Shipments refuse to cover such cargo,at any cost?

    1. 350 of the 3000 cars going to Egypt were Mercedes …. well the US did give them $1.4 billion of foreign aid in 2022

  7. I used to work at BC Ferries as an officer and had warned anyone in that organization who would listen that in regard to electric vehicle fires it is not if, but when one will occur.

When lithium ion batteries proceed to catch on fire they go into thermal runaway, this causes the electrolyte to produce oxygen making this type of fire impossible to put out. The fumes are noxious and poisonous.

More of these tragedies will happen.

    1. Heh,now BC Ferries have their own batteries to burn.
This may be the face saving way they escape these Electric Ferries,by their “accidental combustion”..
Last I heard,BC was hiding the “Battery Beast’s from public sight,as they could not complete one sailing with them,on batteries and the onboard generator ended up using more diesel than the old boats..
      Efficiency Government Style.

      1. I take the ferry a couple of times a month…I better start paying attention to those on-board recorded safety announcements, (How to put on your life jacket, etc).
They were going to convert the diesels to LNG; what happened to that?

        1. Both Spirit class were converted to LNG and Salish class are LNG.

And yes the “hybrid” Island class are a disaster waiting to happen.

          1. Forgot to mention, the Coastal class have four diesel powered generators with two electric drive motors.

            Much safer.

And the C class, Oak Bay, Surrey, Coquitlam And Alberni are just too old.

Another old timer is the Queen of New Westminster.

          2. Lol …shows how much attention I’ve been paying, John. The Surrey and Coquitlam are my regular runs and you’re right, they’re always having mechanical issues.

  8. Park TWO in EVERY attached garage. Park millions in North American parkades every day. Yep, nothing to see here. EV’s ARE SAFE and EFFECTIVE. The Science IS Settled.

    1. The Political science is settled.

And YOU are free to park YOUR EV in your garage. Hopefully you’ll charge it via solar panels, or if you are away during the day, via your basement lithium battery storage system which is charged via your solar panels.

You charging via solar panels, will avoid putting too large a drain on the grid.

  9. I had to laugh as I passed by an underground parking garage for a condo high rise recently. Two large signs declared no propane vehicles allowed. I think it’s time they update their signs, propane vehicles will be the least of their problems if one of their tenants electric car starts on fire down there.

  10. Whatever.. It dawned on me that the only way to get noticed is to burn shit down.. Unless its EVs, nobody notices that.. Can we just jump to the chase and get on with it?.. Asking for a friend..

  11. Simples. If they are going to set the cargo ships on fire, just drive them to their destination instead.

Why do things have to be so complicated?
