  1. Given that most of the links are now being paywalled so you can’t read them even when you click on them, who will notice the difference.

“A broke press is not a free press. News is fundamental to our democracy. The fact that Facebook would rather block people from reading and sharing news instead of paying their fair share to news organizations shows how deeply irresponsible and out of touch they are”

And there it is again “paying their fair share” always means “more”.

Better question, how much free advertising were these “news” organizations getting from YouTwitGooFace linking to their content, and how much is the Liberal Gangster Government demanding that YouTwitGooFace pay for carrying this content?

  2. Canada: Hey! You can’t link to our news organizations without paying!
    Facebook: Sorry. I’ll stop.
Canada: How dare you try to intimidate us!

  3. Another communist using DARVO (Deny, Accuse, Reverse Roles of Victim and Oppressor) to get what he wants, and the public is having none of it. The comments are priceless. Down with Liberal tyranny!

  4. Yet another example of Liberal fascism, the liberals joined the big media cartel to ensure rich media stay that way. I wonder if the gobernment will hire people to travel around social media placing media links and then said SOCIAL-media is sent a bill for the trolls work?

  5. “At some point, we have to say to ourselves, ‘Is it worth funding this?'” (the last line in the article)

“BCE Inc. is cutting 1,300 positions, around three per cent of its workforce, and closing or selling nine radio stations as the company plans to “significantly adapt” how it delivers the news.

The company says the job cuts are in response to unfavourable public policy and regulatory conditions that it can no longer outwait.

The plan entails “moving to a single newsroom approach across brands, allowing for greater collaboration and efficiency,” said Richard Gray, vice-president of news at Bell Media, in an internal memo distributed to staff Wednesday morning and provided to The Canadian Press.”

  6. Never done facebook, twitter, linkedin, whatsapp, google etc, don’t do apps, so don’t miss it and I don’t care.
Quit the lamestream media a long time ago, I don’t watch or listen to any of them, did I say I DON’T CARE?
