COVID-19 lockdowns were “a global policy failure of gigantic proportions,” according to this peer-reviewed new academic study. The draconian policy failed to significantly reduce deaths while imposing substantial social, cultural, and economic costs.
The comprehensive 220-page book, began with a systematic review of 19,646 potentially relevant studies. For their meta-analysis, the authors’ screening resulted in the choice of 22 studies that are based on actual, measured mortality data, not on results derived from modelling exercises. A meta-analysis is considered the ‘gold-standard’ for evidence, as it combines comparable, independent studies to determine overall trends.

At any rate, clearly it was a massive mistake. That’s why it was planned and deliberate. Imagine thinking you can control a respiratory virus with masks and lockdowns in 2020. Then imagine more than half the world stupid enough to believe it would work.

Smallest pore in ANY of the masks used: 10,000 mU (Microns – 1 millionth of a Metre)
Largest bit of Airborne Viral particulate: 100 mU

Paper or cloth masks don’t work against an airborn aerosol disease. At all.
N-95 masks are called “N-95” because the filter element catches 95% of the most penetrating particle size, which is 0.3 microns. Other particle sizes larger and smaller are captured at more than 95%, down to nanometer-sized particles. 1 nanometer is .001 microns.
The Covid 19 virus is ~0.12 microns, it is filtered at 95% efficiency or better by an N-95 filter.
But ONLY IF IT SEALS. If there is any air bypassing the filter, then that air can carry the infection. So you need the fully sealing face mask, with the eye protection, and the hood to keep it out of your ears. The full Raccoon City kit.

Masks act in a similar manner to a gun “clip”, holding more amo to expel when prompted, as when you breath hard or cough. No medical or science expertise need to figure that out!

I attended a grad ceremony on Sat. Sorriest looking photog I’ve ever seen was walking around w/some gear: man bun, shaved sides, tight black jeans, matching black mask. What an embarrassment to humanity.
Related: mask mandates. During the Trucker Convoy, much was made in the media about some protestors criticizing those with masks. People felt ths was intrusive. They overlooked the fact that the masks became a symbol of compliance/ subservience, and that was what was being protested. When mask mandates were in place, people were forcibly removed from stores and families kicked off of planes because a little kid would not keep the mask on. Here is one of the worst stories: a woman killed in a Toronto hospital for not wearing her mask properly. I am glad her story is not forgotten. How often does it have to be said, that single policy could have deaths simply by reducing normal activity, offset by deaths as a result of induced depression, but stats worldwide showed until the VAEs showed up.

All you have to do is compare death rates in England and Denmark 2020 to Sweden, where they did nothing.
This study is interesting in that it is done by a private charity. Where the money came from is an open question.
The section claiming masks reduced deaths is extremely questionable. In a controlled environment like a hospital or retirement home, paper masks are useful for reducing infections from DROPLET BORN organisms, when combined with hand washing and the rest of normal hospital infection control. Diseases like tuberculosis, ebola, etc. are well controlled with paper masks, gown and glove.
Paper masks are useless against aerosol vectors like corona viruses. That’s the science. An aerosol has particles the size of the soot in smoke. To see if your mask will protect against an aerosol virus, light a cigarette. If you can smell the smoke, the mask will not work. If the mask fogs your glasses when you breath out, it will not work. Because the disease is an AEROSOL of particles, not particles suspended in a water droplet.
This is not rocket surgery. Everybody who took infection control training for hospital work knows this. It says so right on the fact sheet that comes with ever single mask you buy. So it is very surprising to see people like the authors of this paper continuing to get it wrong, three years on.

4 points to make:
1) An over-simplistic question that is meant to stimulate even more argument.
2) YES, they did “work” – to demonstrate how the compliant masses can be manipulated, and in the throes, establish ‘off the shelf processes’ to be used again …. and again whenever ‘authority’ needs. Hitler and his lot by todays standards were mere apprentices at mind manipulation and coercion.
3) NO, they did not “work” to minimise the spread of the virus because they could not – with or without any type of mask.
4) The virus is an airborne virus – it is IN the environment, and like the common cold or the fly, it cannot be escaped. There is no Hiding, No Lockdown, no Mask, nothing to to escape what is in effect for most people, nothing worse than a mild flu.
Regarding 4: Unpoisoned self and wife have just had our third hit of C19. The firt hit us HARD – effectively a dead month. The second and third …. if given a choice between C19 and the common cold, I would pick C19 any day. Whilst that doesn’t apply to all, it does apply to many if not most people.
