    1. Wha wha whaaaaaaaat!? CA is demanding Goat Herders be paid $14,000.00/mo. !? Gawwd … what’s crazier than “jumping the shark”? Cause whatever it is … that’s Gavin Newsom’s CA

      1. Kenji – I think I’ll quit my energy sector job and become a California goat herder.
Crazy doesn’t begin to describe California.
I doubt they’ll need a PhD though. That’s the whole point of socialism, hard work and ambition must be punished when the class-clowns run the show.

        1. That goes the same for me..!!

Uh wait a minute…nope, its not enough to entice me.
          I work a 7on – 7off sched….think I’ll stay right where I am.

I wonder if Notely ever thought about goats to do the same…pah, but then she’d have to train em to carry 50 gallon barrels of diesel and fire starters.

          1. Steakman – do remember various reports over the years of sheep and/or goats being used to tame some of the slopes in Calgary. Rather think the problem was that the pasturage was too small and not fenced in, so the cost became prohibative.
Must admit though that – eying the front lawn – think that a community nanny goat which we could move from lawn to lawn up and down the street could be a good alternative to lawnmowers.

  1. Who doesn’t absolutely adore Glenn Tilbrook and Squeeze. Damn. Music Television was brilliant! But what replaced it was beyond gawd awful … and represents America’s rapid descent into an utter cultural wasteland.

My favorite Squeeze tune … Another Nail for my Heart

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-XY3Y1G4QQ

… with a tasty guitar solo by Glenn

    1. It’s a rare song with the guitar solo after the first verse, instead of the second.

They don’t write them like that anymore (that’s also in the YT clip posted)

    2. Squeeze is right up there with about another dozen under-appreciated bands from that era.
The B-52’s cameo on The Guiding Light is about as weird as The Cramp’s on Beverly Hills, 90210.
      and Robert Fripp!

    1. All this Government Anti-Racism is making everyone really, really racist.

      On purpose.

Nobody is more racist than the Liberal Government and the Canadian Media. Nooooooooboddyyy!

Your Government and their Media are the Enemy.

Why do they hate White People?

  2. Dunno if this has been posted as yet, but Herronor Governor General Mary Simon makes lotsa dough, on top of her $10,000 breakfasts:

This morning’s political buzz has it that Justhin might prorogue Parliament, it case he has difficulty shushing his compliant media and opposition parties. A little bit of dinero goes a long way to keep Ms. Simon happy.

    1. “prorogue Parliament?”

I thought that was same as passing the Enabling Act.

    2. I thought that we’ve had a pro-rogue government every since Justine was elected? 🙂

  3. I have been doing some background research for journalists concerning China malfeasance in Canada. Came across his tidbit from the past:
    https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/corporate/reports-publications/proactive-disclosure/secd-state-of-caf-19-april-2021/reference-material/military-exercises-with-people-liberation-army.html

Things one finds from early morning Googling.

Trying to find how many accredited diplomatic staff Canada has in China. If any SDAer has a source, please post.

  4. You can search “Mining companies are snapping up claims to develop Indigenous land. But what happens when a nation doesn’t consent?” but the money paragraph is below.

“Mining operations are fundamentally in conflict with B.C.’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, which incorporated the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) into B.C. law, Bonham says.”

I had no idea that B.C. had adopted a UN declaration into their provincial law. This might explain the recent issue with a senior government official suggesting provinces don’t own their resources. According to the UN, perhaps the First Nations do, and their rights will be implemented by the UN.

Now re-read the first sentence and take note of “Indigenous land” (i.e., not provincial land) and “when a nation doesn’t consent”. There is a movement underway to give provincial land to First Nations who claim it and it will be led by the UN. And you will have no say.

      1. Olivia Chow should start a business. She could set up lunch counters in Eddie Bauer outlets, and call them, “Chow Down”.

  5. The Court Party regularly makes laws and policies for Canadians, usurping the power of Parliament. It has now shown that, when it can’t bend the law to its liking, it will give the government policy direction.

“The Government of Canada has won its appeal and will not be legally forced to repatriate four Canadian men from prisons in Northeast Syria.

A Federal Court of Appeal decision has ruled that “the Government of Canada is not constitutionally obligated or otherwise obligated at law to repatriate the respondents. However these reasons should not be taken to discourage the Government of Canada from making efforts on its own to bring about that result.” ”

  6. Mississauga mayor wants to change ‘O Canada’ lyrics
    https://www.cp24.com/news/mississauga-mayor-wants-to-change-o-canada-lyrics-1.6419564

… Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie hopes the city will support calling on the federal government to change the lyrics of “O Canada.”

In February, Canadian R&B singer Jully Black performed the national anthem at an NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, Utah. During the performance, she swapped out one word for another – altering the lyrics from “our home and native land” to “our home on native land.

The new lyric drew a largely positive reaction on social media, as well as some criticism. Black was later honoured at an AFN Special Chiefs Assembly in Ottawa for the decision.

“I was personally moved by Jully Black’s rendition,” Crombie told CTV News on Tuesday. “I think this is a small effort to address our country’s very dark history.”
