  6. Interesting article about how the Mintx Group (a large foreign firm specializing in China business) was harassed out of China by the state police:

    World corporations still do business in China, and require China-based consultants to tell them factual information on China’s businesses and the economy. The China government lies and cheats about everything, including the production of Chinesec economic data. So these consultants are important.

    The business media still talk about investing in China, but a decoupling between the Westvand China is slowly taking place. More Western consultants and media will be given the heave ho.

      I would posit that Canada’s Government sincerely resembles that remark.

      Canada’s numbers are massaged more than Deshaun Watson.

  8. I get regular emails from the Alberta Institute, as well. This one asks for your participation in a survey.

    At the Alberta Institute, we do a lot of work tracking, analyzing, and reporting on what is happening in Alberta politics and at the legislature in Edmonton.

    But we also spend a significant amount of our time doing original public policy research and generating new ideas that Albertans and our representatives can adopt and implement to help make our province a freer and more prosperous place to live for everyone.

    Last year, to help us with that work, we launched the first edition of an annual Alberta Policy Survey and received an incredible response, with more than 5,000 people from across Alberta participating.

    Today, I’m very pleased to be launching the Alberta Institute’s second annual Alberta Policy Survey.

    Once again, we need your help to guide us in determining what kinds of issues are the most important for you today, and what types of solutions you would like to see proposed in the future to solve these challenges.

    I do not see how Canada can go merrily along without a successful non-confidence vote. The ongoing revelations are beyond the pale.

    I was there! I heard the testimony live. The only thing I was surprised about when listening to this former CBC-Manitoba reporter, is that there were actually reporters who worked at the CBC and actually cared about their profession. I didn’t see anybody from TNC there, though. Must have covered the hearings by remote, but I didn’t know all the independents who were there, so maybe…

    One other observation: It appears that only the good reporters feel the need to quit not only their jobs, but their careers, raising the question of the integrity of those still working at their profession.

  15. In 1947 and onward, there was discipline in schools that was strict. Indian residential schools did not have as much as normal Catholic classrooms.
