The IRS on Monday removed the “entire investigative team” from its long-running tax fraud probe of first son Hunter Biden in alleged retaliation against the whistleblower who recently contacted Congress to allege a cover-up in the case, The Post has learned.
The purge allegedly was done on the orders of the Justice Department, the whistleblower’s attorneys informed congressional leaders in a letter.
“Today the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Supervisory Special Agent we represent was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress. He was informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice,” Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt wrote.
The whistleblower, who supervised the Hunter Biden probe since early 2020, hasn’t publicly identified the first son as the subject of the case that he says is being brushed under the rug, but congressional sources confirmed it.
This used to be called obstruction of justice. There are no limits now to what they will do, that’s why I said Trump’s going to jail. I don’t know what can be done stop them but the GOP should impeach Garland tomorrow.
Agree that Garland should be impeached, even though there is no prospect of a Senate conviction, but I doubt that McCarthy can muster the required votes, or even actually wants to.

An interesting approach to this two tier justice system may already be on the books. Every single state in the US has a law(s) on the books enabling a private citizen to make what is unofficially called a “citizen’s arrest.” Across the spectrum of states, the criteria used to legalize these “arrests” varies. I think we could make things interesting by exercising these abilities. Essentially, you could make it so that the Attorney General could not travel to certain states (solid red states) without risking arrest by the citizenry. Some of these states only require suspicion of the individual committing a felony. Obstruction of justice in the right frame is, indeed, a felony. Technically, you could evaluate the entire catch and release immigration approach to be enactment of a crime directly in contradiction with current applicable laws and apply a citizen’s arrest to the ICE officials improperly employing the law.
As it is now, there are safeguards in place that disallow a citizen’s arrest unless you have sufficient suspicion of a felony occurring that could “disturb the peace” at that moment in time. However, nothing can keep the state legislatures from updating these laws to reel in the overstepping a corrupt federal government.
It sounds far fetched. But, maybe not as much as you might think…
