  1. I’m not sure what else a defence minister of a (nominally) sovereign could say in response to the idiotic public musings by that Dem: “Golly gee, that’s just fine with us?” Regardless of the real contingency plan (I’m positive the Taiwanese aren’t in favour of the Yellow Horde getting its paws on TSML), it’s not going to go over well with their people to publicly appear to be a US patsy. China would also feast on this as a propaganda point.

    1. You think that Taiwan thinks of China as a “yellow horde”?

      Taiwan has to see what the US has caused in Ukraine. The Chechens saw how the US betrayed them with false promises and wrecked their country, now they fight loyally for the Russians. This is the future of Ukraine and Taiwan. Americans wreck the country with false promises and the place ends up a smoking ruin and the scales fall from their eyes.

      1. No, they don’t, in all likelihood. But I do. It’s called a ‘turn of phrase’, son.

    Seems like a really bad combination especially in the keep your big fat mouth shut category.

    @AndyCanuck
    The mission you referenced is a stark contrast from the GE plants that were in Germany and fully operational at the time. Huh…. maybe it was all about money? (Always is.)

  3. In a recent podcast interview, Jim Rickards, (a best-selling author who touts his deep state connections, (CIA, Fed, US Treasury), to promote his personal brand), stated, in the context of Taiwan’s chip manufacturing industry, (I paraphrase slightly): “If China invades Taiwan, the US 7th fleet will destroy Taiwan. But, [happily] the US has other trading partners [for computer chips].”

    As insane as that sounds, Rickards is far from a stupid guy.

    Shortly after that interview, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, who is actually a stupid guy, was recorded as lamenting: “How will we be able to sanction countries if they refuse to use the US dollar?”

    The US Empire is entering terminal phase. They don’t bother to hide that Pax Americana is not necessarily a win-win proposition.

    It’s hard to believe that this actually exists and we are the universe made self-conscious. The enormity of this is perplexing; the universe (us) appreciating its own magnificant glory.

  5. Always good to see a Democrat congressman from Massachusetts float a lead balloon such as this… what did they expect Taiwan to say?

  6. This is actually pretty easy. Taiwan needs to develop or buy missiles that can take out the Three Gorges Dam. Attack us and a half a billion Chinese will die and China will be done. I’m sure Israel has sent a similar message to the Muslims. How would you like to do your Haj in radiation suits for the next hundred thousand years? A form of MAD.

    1. The Americans prevented Taiwan from going nuclear. The NPT is an affront to humanity.
      IIRC, Russia and China were going to nuke each other in the early 60s, and, once again, America stepped in. America is less qualified to be world cops than the Victorian Brits were, by a huge margin.
