  1. Norma Jeane was discovered by “propaganda photographer” (!) David Conover, a member of the Army assigned to take photos of women supporting the war effort by working in assembly plants. David provided the quality photos and encouragement that set the future Marilyn on her path. Conover later wrote his book: Finding Marilyn.

    After the war, he moved to British Columbia, and bought the small Gulf Island called Wallace Island, where he lived and wrote a number of books. He eventually reconnected with Marilyn on the set of one of her movies. Conover passed away in the mid 1980s. David was a prince of a man.

  2. Marilyn certainly was a beautiful woman, probably more unhappy than bored.
