Several years ago I coined an acronym, PVS, to represent Permanent Victim Syndrome. Little did I realize that this mentality would become supercharged and nowadays the raison d’être of many in our society.
In their latest podcast, Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew Pinsky listen to the analysis of a gentleman who really nails down what is going on.

” Permanent Victim Syndrome… the raison d’être of many in our society.”
Indeed. PTSDers, the Aboriginal Industry, all unions, a lot of farmers, limp wristers, teachers, etc etc.
A culture amply described in another article I read this morning as ‘rancid and ridiculous’.
Heh …
From the net: “12 Signs You’ve Experienced Narcissistic Abuse”

This is so common in the politics of manipulation today, they could patent it.
You can spot it on the media cartel yappers specially of those that claim victimhood as their main source of income.

It appears to be connected to reason most of the time though there is a much of witch doctor stuff.
Witch doctors of old would recognize it.
When I realized that Oprah Winfrey started the whole victim culture back in the late 1990’s, I stopped watching.
Couldn’t agree with you more. My sister-in-law and I have talked about that more than once. Neither of us watched Ophrah more than a handful of times for the same reason. Watching crowds of women hang on to her every psychobabble word was more than I could take. Her book lists are another joke. I remember laughing out loud when she made some comment to the effect that she had “discovered” an author called Jane Austen. Good grief.
I had a wide SCREEN TV, and it couldn’t show the whole cow (operha) in one frame, the TV sunk through the floor when they had her on, and I never watched TV again after that!
Orca Winfrey.
Perfect Robert, we see it every day.
About 40 years ago I participated in a self development program called ‘The Excellence Series’. The sessions made out that being a victim made you subservient to situations and taught you to become masters of situations and not slaves to them. A program I am thankful for attending.
