  1. Removing refrigeration is the penultimate sign of the breakdown of society. The world really has gone crazy.

    1. Removing refrigeration in Quebec which gets its electricity from hydro?

Every Justin plane trip generates more CO2 than Quebec alcohol refrigeration.

    2. As I remind anyone who talks about climate change, “Do you realize that by heating your home to 20C you are causing climate change.”

They reply “We use hydro to heat our homes”

“Doesn’t matter,” I tell them, “your house is a constant 20C heat source. Thus, it’s heating the planet. Please turn off your heating… to save the planet.”

      That usually shuts them up.

        1. I don’t give a darn how YOUR global warming theory works or doesn’t. I note that 50 years of computer models have been wrong.

Your house at 20C is a heat source that is constantly dissipating heat into the environment. And it is warming the environment.

    3. Dare I suggest they are going to remove the refrigeration to save money on power. They do not give a damn about climate. I buy mine unrefrigerated off the shelf in my local grocery store. They have cold beer, and I also have refrigeration and do not need to buy cold beer unless I am travelling and pick some up for use at days end.
It has nothing to do with climate just more bullshit.

      1. VOWG

I hadn’t thought of cost savings.

I’m not sure about electricity prices in Quebec, I’d thought they were much lower than rest of Canada. But perhaps that’s only residential customers?

      2. Society is now far too eff’d up for me to dabble with mild intoxicants like beer.

    4. “The SAQ does not believe the removal of fridges will create great dissatisfaction among customers or have negative impacts on sales.”

Having a government forced monopoly will do that. Having no other place to go, the unionised government store has little to worry about.

The old government run ALCB stores sold warm beer for the same reason. Now the private vendors sell it cold. Any vendor selling it warm won’t stay in business very long.

      1. Hi Mike, there is no government monopoly on beer sales in Quebec. Every store in Quebec, from the tiniest depanneur to Costco, can and does sell beer.
Ontarians cross the border in the evenings or on weekends to buy beer in Quebec when The Beer Store is closed. There is a gas station/convenience store across the border near Cornwall where 80% of the inventory is beer, I’m sure they’re making a huge profit on the ice they also sell. Quebecers cross the border to buy less-taxed gasoline.

Selling warm beer to save energy is akin to driving an electric car. An electric car transfers the production of energy elsewhere while a car with an internal combustion engine produces energy onboard just as Quebec’s beer drinkers will be buying more ice on the way to the beach or working their beer fridges harder to chill their beer. The net effect on energy required to keep the beer cold will be negligible.
I prevent climate change by drinking whisky without ice!

    5. Soon. We will all be jerking our beef, and making hard tack biscuits out here on the Pioneer Trail to yesteryear.

      1. More like fighting over the last surviving domestic cat.

When the pacifists at Berkeley haven’t eaten for three days, they will be killing people for food.

  2. Re fossil fuels. Only complete and total idiots and morons thinks they can live without fossil fuels. Apparently they also think we can live without food. I suggest the CBC and their employees are prohibited from using any fossil fuels for anything. That should finish them off.

  3. Unless a product requires refrigeration to prevent spoilage, there is no reason to store it pre cooled in bulk (cases) for sale. If you have coolers for single quantities for immediate consumption, one, or even multiples of one, okay then. No one needs a 24 of beer or cola pre cooled.

    1. Davis, when heading for the campgrounds or cottage it is good to be able to crack a cold one on arrival, providing one is not driving too far.

      1. Put your cold beer in a cooler box before you take off on that road trip. As for that idiot Richard Martinau comparing beer sales with milk in the supermarket, I’m speechless.

    2. Tell that to the Mexican roofing crew after a hard days work in the sun … when they show up at 7-11 for a case of warm piss beer.

    3. You are entirely missing the point that when civilization prevailed in Western Society we had a CHOICE.

  4. The vice president is like a backup goalie in hockey, sit there and shut up until needed, maybe be useful by opening and closing the bench door. Unfortunately with Fall Down Joe, he lets too many goals in by the 10 minute mark of the first period, meanwhile Harris can’t differentiate between open and closed for the bench door……

    1. “Hepatitis A … in FROZEN strawberries!? Gee … where’d ya think THAT came from?”

As long as it’s not nitrogen based fertilizer used to grow them, our betters say it’s all good……………

    2. Add to that also , the help crapping in the fields and wiping their butts with the leaves thats what gets you your hep a & b .
Never mind any other nasty bugs.
You can blame that on the employers for not supplying Porta Potties located near the workers.

      1. Worse than that! Capitalism demands the Farmworkers get paid by the basket of strawberries … so they have no time for a portapotty break … and certainly no time for washing their hands afterwards. I blame the capitalist running dogs who must be punished by eating tainted berries. And esp. if they’re shipped to America

  5. My personal virtue signal is to make sure my wife understands that every time I grab a cold one from the fridge, I close the door and the light goes out thereby saving electricity and saving the climate one beer at a time.

  6. Now that the Democrats are h*ll bent on charging and arresting Trump some readers here might be interested in the motive behind this move. I’d like to point out that on Thursday there was an interview that went viral concerning the laptop from h*ll. During the interview this site was mentioned.

    https://marcopolousa.org/

Of particular interest on the site is the Biden Laptop. The big question coming out of all of this is, since the laptop has been in possession of the FBI since 2019 how did the 50 security and intelligence agents claim that the laptop was a Russian dis-information plot. From a small perusal of the contents in the report I’d like some American reader here explain to me why these fifty agents haven’t been cashiered out of the positions they now hold and charged with obstruction of justice. Inquiring minds want to know.
