Like it or not, San Francisco has become a prize example of how we Democrats have become our own worst enemy. Causes that we have long espoused — respect for human rights, plenty of housing that’s within reach for most people, care for the mentally ill, fair pay, high-quality public education, a dignified retirement — have all been crippled by a small coterie who knows how to bend government to its will. This astonishing city that I have been lucky enough to call home for more than 40 years has become subject to the tyranny of the minority.
Charles Schwab, founder of the brokerage giant and one of the city’s most patient and generous philanthropists, moved to Florida, and his company relocated its headquarters to Texas. Even major figures who hail from San Francisco, and who in many parts of the country are viewed as irredeemable leftists, such as Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, seem at times embarrassed by the condition of their hometown.
Two things are at work:
1. Republicans are building vote harvesting operations, having finally wised up to “if you can’t beat em, join em” This will seriously erode the advantage of being good at cheating.
2. The Times, a.k.a. DNC central, realize that they have over reached, if they don’t appear to moderate, MAGA Republicans, very different that uniparty Republicans will hold sway, and this crew is playing for keeps. they intend to tear down the IC, DoJ, FBI etc. removing the institutions which have previously been in charge. This could produce a total roadblock to globalism which is the big goal.
While I hope Republicans are working on vote harvesting, never underestimate Republicans tendency to shoot themselves in the foot.
It seems to me that Republicans and many conservatives tend to focus on “principles”.
The left focuses on winning power. They realize if you are not in power, principles are meaningless.
Vote harvesting is not the answer. Republicans are botching the ballot integrity issue.
The answer is clean voter rolls, smaller precincts, paper ballots, same day in-person voting except for very specific limited cases, winner announced before midnight on voting day.
There are jurisdictions heading in that direction, but the momentum has not started to build. The U.S. needs to uncover a massive scandal – Arizona is possibly getting close, along with Georgia.
The majority of U.S. voters distrusts the election process. A Republican candidate who ran on a cleaning up the mess would be very popular.
Popular yes, elected, no, not in the face of the massive cheating that the Democrats are so very good at.
That’s the conundrum.

San Fan and all the leftist hell holes including Edmonton and Toronto and Calgary and Vancouver are the result of what Jordan Peterson has observed. When you tell the Truth order ensues. When you tell a lie chaos ensues. Sadly the leftists have been able to lie their way to power and continue to lie while in power. They simply refuse to learn that human nature is what it is. We are not innately good. Our ways tend toward evil and if you reward evil hoping that good will be the result you will just get more evil. As Edmonton discovered, giving out clean drug paraphernalia at the LRT and bus stations does not reduce the drug addict population. It simply discourages non drug uses from using the transit system. IOW it has exactly the opposite effect than the one hoped for. What was the lie? That humans are basically good. What is the truth? That humans need to be challenged to be good by withholding rewards until they are earned through hard work and due diligence.
I believe the aphorism is “the left rewards intentions, the right rewards results”
