Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The Flight Controller loops are a bit heart-rending, listening to the loss of the shuttle in real time. This one’s probably best of the ones I’ve found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbnT8Sf_LRs
I remember fairly vividly the loss of the Challenger, probably because I was young, impressionable, and watched it live on TV. I don’t really remember the loss of Columbia, which surprises me. Getting old, I guess. I do remember the ISS losing American resupply ability for a time, I guess due to this incident.
And because I can’t resist, I have to say, bureaucracy kills people.
You can see the stress in the room, the collective guilt even though everyone had done their job. A lot of sleepless nights for many people. Challenger was more memorable I think because it exploded on liftoff in front of the world. It had become routine like commercial flight up until Columbia was lost and we didn’t have close up videos of it happening. Very sad.
Thankfully the identical twins of the astronauts, who also went into nearly identical fields of study, all survived.
Wake up.
^^^Flat-Earther Alert!
In England I worked as an electrician, grounding power lines in residential buildings.
Yes, I was a flat earther.
