Advice: Don’t draw conclusions about the events leading up to this moment, because it’s both possible the intruder was an invited visitor, and equally possible he broke in and an apparently intoxicated Pelosi was doing the best he could in a difficult situation. In other words, be fair.

Yeah … and now I see video footage of “David” hammering his way through the French doors. That took him quite a long time to bash through the door. Clearly not a professional. But where was the security? And not that wealth matters (yeah, right) … but this is Pacific Heights for Christ’s sake … where the wealthy residents get far better police protection than the plebes in the flats. Given January 6, Nancy has a history of refusing even basic security. Recall Trump asked her to call up the National Guard way ahead of time and she refused. Is she just stupid and incompetent, or ulterior motives (in both cases). On January 6, did she want a violent riot she could pin on Trump, or is she stupid? There is another theory that I have not yet seen advanced by anyone and it does explain the evidence. It is my own theory. Sorry if someone else has suggested it elsewhere.
Leftists believe they can “counsel” anyone who is a little off kilter (whom they would describe as having mental health issues). They are often quite conceited about it and they certainly believe that the police are more dangerous to that person than the person is to him/herself or to anyone else (including said “counsellor”). It is why they thought the monies saved by defunding the police could be reallocated to social workers.
Although it is clear Mr. Pelosi felt endangered enough to let the police know he had an intruder in his house because he called 911, it is equally clear he did not want the police sent to the house. After they arrived at the house, it is also clear he did not want them to enter. If Mr. Pelosi believed that the police were more of a threat to “David” than “David” was to Mr. Pelosi, that thinking would explain the evidence.
Leftists probably have a few stories of their own of moderate success (we would never hear about those because they are not newsworthy), but when things go wrong, they really go wrong. We do not always have so much video as we do this time when things go wrong.
If this turns out to be Mr. Pelosi’s thinking, he will probably not learn from the incident; there is a reason that I earlier mentioned conceit.
I watched the video a few times and I have more questions every time I watch it. Regardless of why the intruder was there or his relationship – if any – to Pelosi, no one should be attacked like that. Paul Pelosi is lucky to be alive. I’m glad he survived.
I do not know if the 911 operator was playing dumb, or was seriously out of touch? But Paul Pelosi was desperately trying to scream for help without alerting the madman with the hammer standing next to him.
Why didn’t they release these videos in the first week. They had their perpetrator. There were no other suspects. It would not compromise any investigation or prosecution.

I can’t speak to what other people are seeing here, but when I watch the video, I don’t see the hammer make contact with Paul Pelosi’s head. I see Mr. DePape swing the hammer towards Pelosi, but as all the action moves to the right, both the hammer and Paul disappear behind the frame of the door.
Honestly, I’m not convinced that the whole thing couldn’t be staged right from the time the cops are checking they’re at the right address(or is it time of call/night), and with some Hollywood make-up could make Paul look terribly injured. Put him in a private hospital room, with “private nurses and doctors” for a week or so(to dry out).
Mr. DePape seems completely comfortable that the police were standing there when the door was opening, not a flinch, nor an attempt to flee. What burglar assaults someone with two police officers standing mere feet away???
I also found strange the cop would say aloud “oh shit” when the attack starts, don’t you just react by moving toward the action rather than verbalizing anything???

The video plus the 911 call make it clear this guy broke in looking for Nancy. The 911 call is weird because there’s a guy with a hammer within earshot of the caller. I don’t think I’d say “hey send the cops now!!!”. He probably told the guy he was phoning something other than 911.
