  5. Does anyone watch CTV? Serious question. I got rid of my TV and am a much better informed individual for having done so. My grandson who is 10 is very much into alternate news. He is very aware of the scams being pulled by the governments around the world. I never talked to him about this until he brought up the subject. I was a bit shocked. The kid has great discernment and rejects the kooks on both sides.

    1. TV is not part of the culture of the next generation. My late teens children haven’t watched TV since they were toddlers. They aren’t alone. When the generation now in nursing homes is gone TV will be as relevant as the telegraph.

    1. Exactly right Rose. However, we should blame ourselves because we are the electors who vote for those who govern us. We accept their lies and it may well be that we ourselves are liars and cheats. Why else would we put up with it? In other words, there is no difference!

  7. I work in a newsroom, have for more than 35 years, and things have changed. Newsrooms do talk about what stories to cover, like he says in the article, but there is now something missing. Diversity of thought. Newsrooms are left wing circle jerks. Plus, all newsrooms in the country get their news from a wire service… It’s the same service everywhere, so they are all writing and broadcasting the same thing. Newsrooms deserve the criticism. There is no defense for the poor job they do.

    Especially giggleworthy was the lecture from a high height on how stories are selected. There’s a pool of possible stories and they gather and vote for the most newsworthy. That’s it! No puppet, no puppet master.

    Har! Well yeah, but it’s about the stories you are paid to keep out of the pool that the protests are about. And you are intimidated by the possible loss of your revolving bribe dough.

    Personal story: my last viewing of any Cdn mainstream TV news was the evening Chretien won a federal election (his last maybe?). There was ex-CBC cat, Lloyd Robertson, with a wide cheshire grin, heralding in the good news, and of course before the polls closed in BC.

  19. I gave up on the talk shows as well as the “News” on TV.
    All you get are the narratives from “Head Office” out East! ‘Libs Good’ ‘NDPs Good’ just don’t contradict those Liberals in charge. And, if anything goes sideways with the ‘NDP achievements’ while they are driving the bus well, they will be hung out to dry faster than you can charge an EV bus. (Maybe even faster!)
    Anything good from the Conservatives might, MIGHT, be found on page 18 or on the late late news following the feel good story of someone adopting a damaged dog or cat.
