Awkward

Former NDP MLA pleads guilty to breaching Alberta’s Health Information Act:

Between Sept. 19 and 23, Dang’s computer program made 1.78 million queries using Kenney’s personal information. Dang admitted to RCMP the queries were randomly generated guesses aimed at revealing the premier’s health care number.

Court documents also refer to Dang’s attempts as a “brute force attack.”

After uncovering a woman’s healthcare number, Dang informed NDP chief of staff Jeremy Nolais and NDP director of communications Benjamin Alldritt of his findings, court documents show.

One month after informing Alldritt of his actions, the NDP promoted Dang to the party’s Democracy and Ethics critic role.

Emphasis mine.

  1. Ex Premier Rachel Notley knew… or she didn’t know what’s going on in her office? and the Health Minister was told of this, from staff at the Notley’s office, without her knowledge?

    https://unitedconservativecaucus.ca/news-release-unsealed-dang-court-records-suggest-notley-misled-albertans/

“Newly unsealed court records released by the CBC suggest NDP Leader Rachel Notley misled Albertans when she denied knowing that Edmonton-South MLA Thomas Dang hacked Alberta’s vaccine records system using information that was not his own, former police officer and Chief Government Whip Brad Rutherford said today.

Provincial Court Judge Shelagh Creagh unsealed damning court records that show Notley’s office knew Dang conducted a shocking 1.78 million illegal health record searches in September. Previously, Notley denied knowing anything about Dang’s hacking activities… ”

    lol…

      1. Yeppers. Anyone surprised by this ain’t paying attention. Disappointed? Sure. Surprised? Give your head a shake. Par for the course.

  2. Dang!

Trying to find out if the premier was vaccinated, possibly? Intrusive to say the least. The crazies are not just slowly getting worse, I think it’s a full-on zombie apocalypse now. Just reading on another platform about the climate summit in the shadow of Mount Sinai, and the new program in the UK where banks send clients stern rebukes if they fill up with petrol, suggesting they take the bus, train or hovercraft instead.

The breaking point for all this cannot be very far ahead of us now. This Alberta thing should not just get a slap on the wrist (let alone a promotion), and the party leader should be expected to make a full explanation, was she aware of this while he was doing it? My guess is probably yes.

    1. In Australia some banks now will not make loans to finance ICE vehicles..
      it’s becoming insane

  3. Seems to me that if Joe Blow Dang were hacking like this, he’d be doing some jail time.
A fine? His income is from the taxpayer…
Another example of why corporal punishment should be a Thing for law-breaking politicians & bureaucrats.

    1. You don’t think he’s going to pay his own fine do you? And I agree, he did wilfully and with premeditation break into a computer system with the intent to steal personal, private information. That deserves jail time.

    2. Corporal punishment yes, mandatory jail, and all their entitlements ended including any pensions for breaching the public trust.
I prefer Capital punishment myself, no pardons.

  4. Butt don’t call nolty nutly, as Brad Lost (trost) the cuckservative will be upset, ben there done that. Time to get rid of bible pounders in government and politics. They enable criminal behavior by trying to be kristian!

  5. Would not be surprised if the guy is an agent of China.
The socialist extremists of the so called ‘New Democratic’ party, which is neither new and most certainly not democratic, would welcome people like that with open arms.
All you have to do is see who the donors are.

  6. Trusting government with your health records..guaranteed to end well..
    Oh yeah.
    So ethical,so upstanding..
Our wonderful helpers would never use our health status against us..
    Never..
Unless they felt your vaccination status was their business..
    Never gonna happen ..right?
We has those “Charter Rights” and “Charter Freedoms”,guaranteed to us ,by government, since 1968..Except when government panics and claims “Its an emergency”…

Still trusting your ever loving big bureaucracy ?
    Forward!.

  7. “The Crown is seeking a $10,000 fine, while Dang’s defence is asking for under $4,000.”

That’ll hurt him, with his $120k a year salary for sitting as an independent MLA

    1. They should ask the people for input on his penalty. I can envision some pretty colourful punishments…

  8. Probably way under $4,000. Don’t forget this is Alberta where another judge sentenced a non-virus infected, almost healthy woman, to a slow death; in agreement with the hospital death bureaucrats.

So now we know. Political bureaucrats want you dead. Hospital bureaucrats want you dead. And politically-appointed judicial bureaucrats want you dead. Does Alberta have some sort of regulation where your bureaucrats get part of your death largess?
