From Storming the Beaches in Normandy to Suffering Microaggressions in Ottawa

What has happened to the once noble, proud people of Canada? When did Permanent Victimhood replace Honour, Pride, & Dignity? Has this devolution of the populace occurred solely because of Justin Trudeau or was he merely canny enough to capitalize on a large voting block of truly pathetic grown children?

Are all residents of Ottawa really this pathetic?

Update: Here’s another view of supporters of the Freedom Protest that you’re not going to see at the ongoing hearings. h/t LindaL

    1. Feel the ‘burn’ from the blade in your back…
Backstabbing at its finest on display along with blacking out all the materials that Ottawa doesn’t want you to see.
Hundreds of those rapists and degenerates that were invading Ottawa by our politicians count.
Must fly ‘gay flag’ its what we think it’s citizens want by our distorted data.

  1. Such a travesty. If this investigation does not find government at fault for invoking the Emergencies Act, then we can no longer trust our institutions. Trudeau has ruined the country and divided Canadians. He needs to be smacked down big time for all the harm he has done to Canada.

    1. The fix is in Linda. Expecting anything other than a LIEberal friendly fixed result, would be shocking, given the commission is setup exclusively by, and for, LIEberals

    2. Too late: we already know our institutions cannot be trusted. Who will ever again trust: banks, police, schools, teachers, doctors, nurses, media, politicians, “experts” or “authorities”? Not me, and I’m not alone.

The damage has been self-inflicted, and I believe it’s irreversible. Canada as I know it is done, finished, OVER.

      1. People still trust and support them when it comes to seat-belt, knife, gun, drunk driving, cigarette and helmet laws.

        1. Some of those things may be prudent social conventions that all reasonable adults can agree are needed to have a functioning society.

          1. Yeah, because society wasn’t functioning prior to these “social conventions”, a BS weasel word if I ever heard one.
What you call “social conventions” is actually sending out armed goons to terrorize people who have harmed no-one, because safety, in other words, because people are scared, cowards, snowflakes…and you marvel at the fact that society is now full of snowflakes, and for some reason, people are incapable of making the logical leap from forced safety to widespread social cowardice. It is precisely your obsession with safety that has created the sickened society we live in.

Now mask up and get jabbed.

    1. I think the media giving voice to these whiners is a big part of the problem and the government ( and people like McKenney egging them on). They would not be complaining if they were not getting attention and being encouraged. The video link has a post from a guy in Centertown who provides some perspective. Government measures ( like closing side streets and taking away porta potties) made things much worse. Many Ottawans supported the protest. Likely you won’t find them at the hearings.

The real qvestion is, are they as bad or worst than some posters in here, and I include some of the bloggers in that, and you personally!

    1. Back at you, GYM… and I think you’ll find that I have more support here than you do, but that’s besides the point.

I wanted to point to normally-thinking SDA’rs out there (of which, obviously you’re not included in that group), that the Fluery portion of the video was even worse than Harrison Faulkner made it out to be.
You see… just before Fluery responded to the question, Catherine McKenney, who is considered to be the front-runner for Mayor of this burg, actually COACHED Fluery to “Respond in French.” Falkner didn’t pick up on that, but McKenney’s hot mic certainly did.

The fact that this loose cannon, woke-leftist (they-them-their), looney-tune, climate-change alarmist
radical, can actually become mayor of this dysfunctional metropolis speaks volumes about the electorate in this “city.”

      1. You are quite right. The Ottawa Press Gallery has been selecting those who would present the most hysterical views of the Truck Protest. They represent nothing more than a very tiny minority found only in Centretown. As evidence, note how few actually bothered to attend this trivial gathering of a hearing. Catherine McKenney is not necessarily the front-runner; at best she has support from Centretown only. But you are entirely right as to how to characterize her: she’s a complete flake.

As for GYM, by all means ignore him. He never has anything useful to say.

        1. Actually, she (sorry… “they”) is! Local polls puts her (sorry again… “them”) at 29% popularity. Mark Sutcliffe, 5 points behind. Sutcliffe leads in the west and south, McKenney, the downtown, and east. The only advantage Sutcliffe has is that he is ahead among the older voters who typically goes out to vote. The younger voters, whom support McKenney, tend to stay home, so we’ll see what happens next Monday.

        2. Very hard to imagine her bringing people together after that performance. I think her credibility is shot.

      2. fc.

TRUE THIS: Cause I watched it first hand.

“…You see… just before Fluery responded to the question, Catherine McKenney, who is considered to be the front-runner for Mayor of this burg, actually COACHED Fluery to “Respond in French.” Falkner didn’t pick up on that, but McKenney’s hot mic certainly did…”

In SPADES. In a very quiet whisper, that rotten BEOTCH was saying “keep going – keep going..!!” She Epitomizes the Human garbage that infests their City council. And for that matter, pretty much every City Council in this Country. Certainly Vancouver Calgary, Edm. Regina …. Leftist Filth the lot. (& I do believe I smell the stench of Soros/Dominion Voting machines in that…being such a good buddy of the turd n all)

As an extra: One 5 min stretch of listening to that lying sack of Shit of an Ottawa Mayor simply adds meat to the subject.

        Asteroid pls..

  3. All those phantom acts of unobserved violence created a phantom state of emergency like Justin Trudeau has never seen before.

  4. The Bottom line is that Gutless bit of filth occupying the PMO had any Balls at all, he would have gone down and spoken to the Protestors.

But he doesn’t and he didn’t preferring to believe the utter Bullshit/Lies from the Woke sycophants in his circle and the City Council.

A Complete and Total Gutless Wanker.

    1. You wanna see who the gutless wonders are?
Just ask people if drunk driving should be de-criminalized, and made back into just a warning when pulled over, and if guns should be sold at hardware stores with no more restrictions than a chainsaw, and if those ideas scare them, then they are gutless wonders.
I’d say that makes up well over 95% of the Canadian population.

  5. Lemme say this again.
The only transgressions of the truckers was parking, a simple parking ticket should have covered that.
    Period.

The parliamentary show going on now is to make sure that the idiot in charge is not going to inherit the title of dicktator (sic), sort of washing with muddy water supplied by the bottom feeders.
Knowing the ruling class, the idiot as usual will get a pass and that will be the end of it.
The media cartel will shut down the obviously well justified criticism and illegal actions of the government of Canada.

  6. I ain’t that bright. I know it. So I am going to ask what could be a dumb question. If the commission concludes that government was not justified in invoking the emergency act, what then? Are there penalties? If so, to whom/what? Whatever the commission concludes, what is there to prevent or dissuade either our current dear leader or the next from an unjust/unnecessary invocation of the emergency act again? So far, all I anticipate is a slap on the wrist until the next election is called.

    1. “So far, all I anticipate is a slap on the wrist until the next election is called.”

With an ostrich feather wielded by a tranny. And I don’t mean a gearbox.

    2. An inquiry does not have the authourity to lay charges or take any action whatsoever. All they can do is make recommendations to the appropriate agencies. Does anyone in their right mind actually think that any government body would charge Trudeau?

    3. To paraphrase Andrew Jackson, “they’ve made their ruling; now let them enforce it”.

Even if there’s a relevant law – and I don’t think there is – that says there must be an election called as a result of the commission, who’s going to enforce the law? The Liberal government controls the judiciary, the RCMP and all city police departments.

  7. Ottawa, where the sidewalks roll up around the capital at 4:00 PM every afternoon, and people are shocked that nothing, and I mean nothing, good ever comes from the central bureau of entitlements. They are totally disconnected from reality and its consequences that the rest of Canada faces as a result of their actions.

  8. I want to know who came up with lockdown and mandates and why some jurisdictions knew enough to not implement them.

  9. When people are so scared that they need seat-belt laws, helmet laws, knife laws, gun laws and thousands of other laws to feel safe. You people say there’s a difference between the men who stormed Normandy and men now, and you’re right. The men who stormed Normandy weren’t scared of cigarette vending machines and drunk drivers, but you people are.
You begged for it, now you’re getting it, good and hard, and you deserve it.

  10. Submit your comment to the Emergencies Act Inquiry until Oct 31st.

I suggested that they throw some CBC clown into the witness box and get him to explain why they lied about the convoy funding and ask him if the story was ordered by the PMO.
But I did it nicely, without cussing at all.

We’re hearing from witnesses who were in positions of power that they learned all about the horrors of the Bouncy Castles from the media.
Maybe some of the other rabidly hysterical government funded media types should have to explain their reporting too.

  11. Has this devolution of the populace occurred solely because of Justin Trudeau or was he merely canny enough to capitalize on a large voting block of truly pathetic grown children?

Victim culture has been developing for a long time. Little Justin has capitalized on it, but he did not start it.

Personally, I saw it start with the Fake Allergy People. Sure, let’s call them FAPpers — why not? Peanut allergies — legitimate allergies that require people to be careful and carry EpiPens — seemed to be the first serious food allergies to get widespread public attention. The apparent prevalence of this allergy changed the world in small ways but ways that are noticeable in daily life: schools implemented new rules that were messaged far and wide; manufacturers changed product ingredients and proudly advertised the fact with icons and announcements on packaging; people will legitimate health concerns started to get attention and accommodation. They were “special” in a way and earned sympathy.

In my experience, this was the first time that people were recognized and earned accommodation for something that was not obviously apparent. You could have this condition and nobody would know until you mentioned it.

I believe this lead to a lot of fakers realizing that they, too, could earn special recognition and accommodation for simply announcing that they have some unseen issue. Note that I am talking about fakers here — people who fake an allergy for attention and sympathy. I am not calling out people who have legitimate allergies and who take care of themselves to manage the risk. I am calling out the people who carry on about their allergies but who do not, for example, carry countermeasures. I worked with one woman who claimed to have absolutely lethal allergies to many common foods. When asked if she carried an EpiPen, she said that she did not know what that was.

As I saw it, the mainstreaming of announced victimhood started with food allergies and moved on and snowballed from there. And once announced victimhood started to carry weight, a hierarchy of victimhood quickly evolved. Those addicted to the endorphin rush of special notice and accommodation found ever more ways to elevate their status.

After the currency of victimhood was thus established, each cohort adopted it as just normal behaviour as they came of age. Political pandering — identifying interest and victim groups and exploiting them — came quickly after. Pandering to groups has always been there, of course, but victimhood and the myriad of new victim identities provided fresh fodder on which to feed.

Not saying that this is the only way all this happened, but this is what I’ve observed.
