Let’s kick this monstrous mess to the curb and start fresh.
On Thursday morning, while catching up on the news about last weekend’s massacre on (and around) James Smith Cree Nation in northern Saskatchewan, I ran across a truly remarkable Globe and Mail headline: “Saskatchewan suspect’s case draws new scrutiny to statutory release.” I hardly knew whether to laugh or cry at this exercise in the journalistic privilege of agenda-setting. The crimes of Myles Sanderson, who died mysteriously in police custody Wednesday after stabbing 18 people and killing ten of them, ought to “draw new scrutiny” to about a hundred different things about the Canadian state and its philosophy of criminal justice. One hardly knows where to start with the list-making.
It’s short and it’s brutal. Go read it all.

Another burning question: Will this get more media play and positive results than Portapique?
Don’t know.
But I sent the piece to Peter Pea-rabbit and asked him if he had any remedies in mind.
Breathless in anticipation of a response, I am!
(Eye roll)
A lot of Canadians voted Liberal, NDP, and Green to get a government that facilitates that type of behaviour.
Don’t like it?
Vote them out.
Yes! Vote really really hard next time! That should do it!
LOL
Man hijacked a bus in Brazil, And then killed a woman passenger. They put him in the back of the police car and he choked to death before they were able to get to the police station. IT happens all the time in South American countries.
Maybe Canada should hire some illegal Hispanic Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The stupidity of forgiving Indians convicted of murder or violence is that they primarily prey on other Indians. Do stupid white politicians and judges imagine that they are doing anyone any good? Do you think they give a shit about 10 dead Indians? Not a chance. Liberals are brutally racist when they think they are doing good.
The Indians will probably say if they had their own justice system entirely separate, he would have been healed, so now blame Whitey. And its not that Whitey isn’t mostly to blame for this POS remaining at large, but just that the Grievance Indian Industry will say he’s the product of Whitey’s racism and is entirely Whitey’s fault.
He should have been double-tapped out in the back forty a long f**king time ago by an Indian, so they dropped the ball when it was in their court.
Systemic racism, residential schools, social inequity…etc. etc.
“is that they primarily prey on other Indians”
Sometimes the left tribes features are disguised cleverly as bugs. It’s because they really hate the natives to their very core but love those gov’t jobs so they pretend to “help.”
“Do stupid white politicians and judges imagine that they are doing anyone any good?”
Bingo! And there are 2 possible answers: Yes …. which is a declaration of mind-boggling stupidity; or No….a declaration of uncaring white supremacy.
As our gracious hostess has said many times, never ascribe to stupidity that which can be adequately explained by malice. They HATE the natives and want them offing each other, it means a- fewer natives , and b- more jobs for snivel servants who obviously must be paid handsomely to study this violence and keep them distracted and fighting.
They formed an entire committee to figure out why aboriginal women get murdered by other aboriginals and the idea was to make it sound like it was racist crackas.
I got an idea: Lets ban guns!
Shawn Petry is another question mark, was he known to police before he went on his shooting spree today?
So who owns this judicial mess?
I’d say that the voters who keep electing gutless and stupid politicians are the root cause.
Stupid politicians are elected by stupid voters who pass stupid laws and appoint stupid judges.
I’m with you on blaming voters to a large extent…the problem is WE get the government that THEY deserve.
In cases like our disgusting justice system it’s really probably a case of the establishment simply not having any accountability or connection to voters whatsoever. When you vote for the promises and then get something completely different from what you ordered, the system tells us to vote the bums out next time…but next time the same thing happens. Democracy is an illusion that the system is responsive to the little people.

I haven’t read anything lately of how much worse off those in the USA are with their murder rates…
If I just add an additional 10 murders to the Sask. figure for 2022, and expect that Sask’s numbers weren’t cratering up until last month, I think Texas and Florida will compare favorably. (If I were to move south, it’d be Florida or Texas)
Especially so, knowing that some folks just walk around with a pistol in their jacket, while those in Sask. have to go find a baseball bat or whatever they’re using to off folks over there in my former hood.
Saskatchewan 5.93 / 100k
Texas 6.6 / 100k
Florida 5.9 / 100k

I think it’s a relevant question. Why are some groups of Canadians so violent?
Why is it verboten to mention which groups are prone to violence?
If the answer is, “because it’s 2022” … that’s ok, I’ll understand.
If you ever want to wake someone up tell them to go have a look at Toronto’s most wanted. You can look at it anytime and it’s the same thing.
I recall looking at the FBI’s list of most wanted, from more than a decade ago (and it was likely someone here at SDA who pointed this out…) they all looked exactly like members of the “religion of peace” back then, with peaceful names too!
I asked my semi-socialist family of Liberals in Regina in about 1980 why some commonly named folks there were never in the telephone directory, none could guess why the gov’t telephone company wouldn’t give telephones to “those people” while the crime pages of the local news effort, The Leader Post, were full of their names, sometimes it seemed like there were 2000 of these people, yet none of them had telephones?
My opinion, without actually looking, is the Toronto most wanted would be filled with new Canadians who perhaps drive plain white vans onto sidewalks. Yet I doubt it’s because in “their country” (how long does someone need to live in tier 2 Canada before they refer to here as “our country”?) they drive on the left? I can’t tell by looking at a street view of Pakistan which side they’re supposed to be driving on.

I want a new country 2.
Toronto’s Most Wanted was also known as “The Jamaican Bobsled Team” when I was younger.
