      Now he completely demolished any loyalty one may have had with his attack on Smith.
      Smith has a plan, some like it, some don’t, take your pick.
      To characterize it as he did is not how you talk in public forum of your potential successor.

  4. Sundance, over at The Conservative Treehouse, is sounding the alarm over RDS, saying that DeSantis is following a well-worn path used by RINO’s. Sundance is very, very good at political analysis. When he speaks, I listen. DeSantis has been an excellent governor, but I have serious doubts about his presidential ambitions.
    In short, I don’t see RDS as MAGA. Given a choice, I’d rather see Kari Lake run for President in 2028, than Ron DeSantis.

    1. I don’t see DeSantis as Maga, and that is a feature not a bug (I say that as a person who voted for Trump and would again if he is the nominee).

      Granted, there isn’t a Florida “deep state” to fight against, but DeSantis has done a much better job than Trump of picking subordinates to actually implement his ideas, and attempts to paint him as a Rino are foolish considering how much he has actually done, against the grain, to preserve freedoms compared to the all talk, go along to get along, Rinos.

      In addition, Trump worries me how his ego still gets him to brag about quick development of the vaccines when reality should have gotten him to transition long ago to using the Covid response and the vaccines as a painful textbook example of how the entrenched unelected bureaucracy has way too much power with zero corresponding accountability.

      1. The trouble is, when seeking the big chair, you need BIG money. And for that, politicians who don’t have Trump’s wealth need BIG donors, and those big donors will call the policy shots on the big files. Trump could freely fight against the multinationals, the US CoC, etc. because he didn’t need their money. RDS will not have that luxury. He will need their money to launch a presidential bid, ergo he will not be permitted to cross them.

        So I tend to follow Sundance on this one. If & when RDS runs for POTUS, he’ll become a member of the UniParty in good standing. If he gets elected, he’ll preside much more like Bush than Trump.

          The interests of these two distinctive sources of funding couldn’t be more different. We The Middle Class just want a “fair shot” to quote Obama. For we the conservative half of the country … that means let us keep MOST of our hard earned money … and STOP the BIG Govt. -BIG Corporate conspiracy to LOOT the American Treasury.

        2. Trump did a lot of talking, and not enough fighting. He was too ingrained in the business idea of assigning tasks to your subordinates and trusting them to get them done, because there would be consequences if you didn’t. I don’t see from any of his comments that he learned enough from his experience to be much different in round 2.
