  1. A random Twitter post from a homeowner in Germany expects the gas bill to heat his house will rise from 4500 Euros to 14,500 Euros. He’s hired a consultant to figure out how to shut off the heat to various rooms in his house.

    1. That was my first thought. Give the liberals time though, they’ll come up with a plan to make Quebec the NG capital of Canada at the rest of the country’s expense. And Cantards will stand around with their thumbs up their asses saying ‘we’ll I guess if if it saves the country it’s worth it’.

    2. Quebec likely does have natural gas in parts of the St Lawrence valley, but their anti-Alberta, anti-oil&gas governments have embargoed it.

    Those rail line crossing Canada East/West they look pretty ratty and unsafe..better shut them down for prolonged inspection as they cross the prairies..If it saves one life..
    Truckers moving freight East ,need to charge rates that cover the corruption risks to their business.

  9. Oddly, I’m not sure why the french are suffering from high electricity prices given that roughly 70% of it’s electrical power comes from nuclear, which should be immune to hydrocarbon fuel price increases…

    I’m sure the government is the cause though.

    1. I could be wrong, but I read that France has or is in the process of shutting down 3 of its nuclear power plants.
      On the plus side, you can live anywhere in France, it is all beautiful.

  11. There has been an anti-fracking / exploration campaign in Europe for 20 years resulting in non-utilized resources. If developed these resources could power Britain/ Europe for the near future but their eco radicals have shut that down. Get rid of the ecofascists and the problem can be resolved by adults.
    And hydrogen when burned produces H2O,water vapour which is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2. (don’t tell Trudeau)

  20. Regarding the green hydrogen project in Stephenville, which will take 3 years to get into production …

    The link is to the Marathon Gold Valentine Gold Mine (not too far away from Stephenville) which is proposed to go into production “soon”. They submitted their environmental assessment in April 2019. It was approved 2 days ago. That means over 3 years just to get the environmental assessment approved, not including the time it took to perform the assessment. Initial environmental work started in 2010.

    So why does it take 12 years to permit a mine (it’s not even permitted yet) and only 3 years to build a hydrogen processing facility with 168 wind turbines? Because Canadians hate mining! And oil & gas.

  22. So to put that in context, my power bills (British Columbia) work out to 15 Canuck cents per kilowatt-hour. 800 euros per MWH is about $1.00 CDN per kWh, given current exchange rates. Governments have a tendency to tax “expensive” things so our European brethren will likely be paying eight or ten times as much for electricity as Canadians.

    Juthtin’s daddy wanted “World” prices for oil in Canada. It’s likely Juthtin will want us to do something similar with electricity.

        The ROC, on the other hand, should fire up every coal and nuclear plant they can, and sell electricity cheap to attract businesses who leave Quebec.

        It’s win-win, really.

  23. Why not build an LNG plant in Thunder Bay. It’s on the SL Seaway and ocean going ships tie up there. A pipeline to Thunder Bay makes sense because they already have a corridor.

    You could commission the building of a coupla ice breakers at the same time you start building the plant and pipeline. Quebek can build one and Fishworld could build one as well. Everybody wins.

    If BC complains build Northern Gateway.

  25. There is more heat energy in the first five kilometers of earth’s crust that we could ever hope to use. Wells drilled to five kilometers can produce recirculated water at 80 degrees celcius nearly anywhere in the world.
    Most likely there are buildings in your town that do just that, but they keep it a secret. Don’t want the plebs to find out.

    1. Eventually, someone will figure out that geothermal energy accelerates the warming of the atmosphere, and then there will be protests about that too. Even though the factor of acceleration is vanishingly small. That’s the way the warmists operate. It doesn’t have to be logical.
