“Medical assistance in dying” – I’m old enough to remember when it was called “killing”.
A Canadian Forces veteran seeking treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and a traumatic brain injury was shocked when he was unexpectedly and casually offered medical assistance in dying by a Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) employee, sources tell Global News.
Sources say a VAC service agent brought up medical assistance in dying, or MAID, unprompted in the conversation with the veteran. Global News is not identifying the veteran who was seeking treatment.
Earlier: An Ontario man suffering from an incurable neurological disease has provided CTV News with audio recordings that he says are proof that hospital staff offered him medically assisted death, despite his repeated requests to live at home.
Won’t be long before it’ll be mandatory.

You are wrong to call it killing. It is called “Aktion T4” In 1940, the National Socialist government rounded up those considered mentally or physically defective from hospitals and sanitariums across Germany and injected or gassed them. At Schloss Grafeneck in 1940, over 10,000 were killed by the state. There were 4-5 other sites across Germany. It was the murder of “undesirables”.

Veterans Affairs has in my experience always been a disgrace. Years ago I waited on the phone to get an answer to a question, and when I complained, the civil servant’s reply was, are you dying or something?
“… are you dying or something?”

I suffer from PTSD after 3 tours in AFG (2004-05, 2007 & 2011) and VAC is a mess. They are backlogged 6 months for my reevaluation (I was told July back in March but we are mid-August and nothing still), fumbled a prescription update after 2 doctors in 6 months told VAC to increase my dosage as prescribed.
They put hurdles in our ways when we seek help and staff might be overworked though.
Extremely frustrating since 2015 for me and VAC actually make my condition worse in the long term.
Family member developed cancer – probably related to overseas service (not give details) – but was “allowed” to leave the forces just as it was evident he had serious health issues. Suffered under civilian care (don’t ask – would get expletives deleted) before dying prematurely because of health care screw-ups. So widow requests a pension, given her husband had been in the military for rising 30 years before being “allowed” to retire. Pension denied. Fortunately another family member got his “Irish up”, so to speak (have to love the Chinese Irish) and got the widow the pension she deserved.
So far as I can figure, VAC exists solely to deny veterans and their families much-deserved entitlements. After all, every dollar denied to the vets goes to the VAC bonuses.
Just remember we have the best health care in the world and we love all our veterans who sacrificed so much that we vilify and disrespect them.
The VAC employee was probably Juthtin wearing one of his disguises.
So, am I mistaken and it’s never been a crime in Canada to incite someone to kill themselves… or is this just another law that leftards are walking all over?

This is coercion to “choose” to die. This is just like the “voluntary choice” to take the mRNA vaccines for COVID or choose to not be employed, not participate in society, not travel, not get medical care, that kind of thing.

Canada is rapidly becoming the first post-national dystopia under the liberals, who are no more than fascists wearing smiley faces. That so many Canadians shrug and order a double-double with a glazed donut instead of rising up is all the explanation you need to understand why the Germans went along with Uncle Adolf’s Final Solution.
A society of responsible adults would never outsource their responsibilities to the state. Patients, being a burden on the precious system, especially if not convinced to self terminate. There are likely bonuses for the staff when they succeed.

They are under real pressure to reduce costs as other peoples money dries up.
And they still get their payraises and participation medals..

Seems that there was a time in the late 30’s of the past century that they though it was some kind of solution to their problems.
It is with the program, they want to eliminate as many people as soon as possible.
