Blog Notes

I’m currently in upstate New York, finishing off a dog show circuit that included Westminster Kennel Club. No, I didn’t win, but my dog looked and worked great and we left it all in the ring. I’ll be heading for home on Sunday, all 2,000+ miles of it driving solo. Ugh.

Many thanks to our guest bloggers for keeping things humming. It was a long two years away from my hobby and passion, it feels great to get off the porch and run with the big dogs again.

I spotted this in passing, it’s worth the smile.

  1. As I always told my soccer team when we didn’t score … that you should measure your success by how many quality chances you built on goal. How many quality movements leading to quality shots you built. Sometimes the ball goes in the net … and sometimes it doesn’t. That cannot always be controlled. But creating the opportunities is what you CAN control … and what really matters.

It sounds like you created GREAT opportunities for a WIN!? Sometimes it’s down to the judges judgy opinions. Those cannot be controlled … but your beautiful dog and handler can be. Well done! The journey is the Win. Drive safe … and be wary of the other idiot drivers.

  2. GREAT video! Awesome to see that the kid reciprocated from the first caught ball. His parents did a good job raising him.

    1. The kid got the “real” ball … hit into the stands … in the course of play. The “charity ball” went to the original recipient. The kid came out ahead. But everybody wins. Except … they have to sit through the most boring game on the planet.

  3. The boys of summer.

    Sexists.

The CRTC will not be amused at this manning up by Americans on Canadian TV. Now they have their inquisition legislation. Yeah.
