        1. And victim blaming. It’s about the equivalent of saying if a woman hadn’t been wearing a short skirt she wouldn’t have been raped. No one voted for this jab. No one decided we needed lockdown and mandates. It was done to us.

          1. Ah, but we voted for the government that inflicted them upon us. The government makes all those decisions for us, thereby sparing us the nuisance of having to vote on whether or not we should be poisoned.

  3. I find it’s situational. However, I’m often amazed at just how stupid otherwise intelligent people can be. I include myself in that. As Twain is reported to have said, “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you in trouble, it’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”

  4. Yes, we are stupid. Most specifically in that the population generally has lost any ability whatsoever to connect cause and effect. But then, accurate attribution of the sources of our misery and societal dysfunction is politically incorrect. We can’t have that.

      1. Cause: Gov’t printing money hand over fist, while destroying major elements of the private sector.
        Effect: Inflation.
        Fix: Stop printing money hand over fist, and let businesses flourish without endless reams of red tape.

        The New Normal:
        Cause: Corporate greed.
        Effect: Inflation.
        Fix: Tax the corporations and buy a few votes.

        They know about cause and effect alright, and they use it as just another pretext to screw everyone over, and they do this by telling blatant lies.

    1. Our wealthy (for now) welfare State has screwed with Darwinism. We have propped up the lives of stupid people. Without the welfare State most of the stupid people would have died off before they bred more stupid people.

      Darwinism will win in the end when the welfare States collapse under the burden of carrying so much dead weight of stupid people (and harvesting their votes). This current imbalance will correct itself faster than “global warming”

    Russia is making inroads into Africa as well, while the west imposes sanctions against their own people, continues to buy Russian energy, argue like little girls over the Cypriot resources that could free Europe from Russian energy, or here in North America, simply ban energy resource exploitation and manufacturing by fiat.
    Who is the greater fool, the fool or the one who follows him?

    I will remind you that the OP wants the state to crack down on “illegal guns”, as its the guns that are responsible for Gun Crime in Toronto, dontcha know.

  8. Our leaders are blithering idiots. They can afford to be, because it’s never their money that gets thrown away, and it’s never their sons who get slaughtered in pointless wars.
    So they’ll go on making idiotic mistakes until they get us all killed.

    Here are our choices—we can get rid of them or Putin can get rid of us all.

      Its Nature’s first step in purging the planet of people who think men can be women, and that children should be sexually liberated, all the while eating bugs and being “Net-Zero.”

        I call that system “freedom.”
        Moral busybodies are the bane of freedom, be they leftists who think that children should be sexually “liberated”, or people who think that prostitution should be illegal.
        If you can’t handle the fact that some adult you never met trades sex for money with another consenting adult, then you are part of the problem.
        If you can’t handle the fact that children are not sexual beings, you are also part of the problem.
        Adults have agency, children do not.
        I used to mow lawns, do weeding, paint garages, etc, as a child, but now, much of what I did is illegal, what with child labor laws and safety laws. They took away the agency of the adults who would have hired me and replaced it with state fiat, and are currently trying to make a place where children can turn tricks legally.

        1. You missed the quotation and apparently either don’t know the definition of the word or somehow, for no apparent reason, equate people with morals as “busybodies”. I didn’t say sanctimonious. You might want to consult a dictionary.

          One of the foremost constitutional theorists of the founding generation, John Adams, observed, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” He wasn’t the only Founding Father to hold this view.

    Many people have been conned into supporting the same leadership that promotes this kind of stuff by the “Russia eats babies” crowd.
    Personally, I like Russians, they like steak, booze, hockey, pretty women and the occasional bar-brawl, unlike the wokeists who hate all of those things.

Probably quite a few people among those who have violated the Nuremberg Code and knowingly injected us with something that would kill and damage a lot of people.

  14. Amazing how many commentators here are starting to realize that we have been duped by a minority and yet our compassion will forbid us to correct the situation that we find ourselves in.

    Remember the phrase “Diversity is our strength.” Now we are told that we cannot have diverse thoughts, we must all ascribe to the government narrative. I fear that the intelligence of the average Canadian is well below their shoe size.

    The first inkling of wisdom is to recognize your own stupidity.
    We can never grow out of it nor can we cure it,but we can acknowledge our state and work with it.
    Kind of why I like to be left alone.
    I need no help screwing things up,but I do so with my resources..not yours.
    Now stupidity is most pronounced in those who have an answer for everything.
    And book learning expertise is a perfect example..
    Experts ,because one has “Studied”,who ignore the feedback from people who have done.
    We have a pattern seeking brain,an ability to believe utter nonsense and a fear of uncertainty..
    We are hard wired to be credulous morons..
    And we do it well.
    If you review all the things you once knew for sure were true,you can see your own path of stupidity..And even today you can find things that once assumed true have turned out to be lies.

    We have always been stupid,yet with care and simple adaptations we were able to build a most luxurious civilization and give our children an even better start than we were given in our turn..
    Surrendering to our Inherent Stupidity?

    The path to adulthood,is that of reaching a positive compromise with this handicap.
    Which is why so few Liberals qualify as adults.

    I would argue,that the old time limitations on the right to vote,was a direct result of acknowledging Stupidity.
