To be honest, I support TURKEYS “motion” of going against NATO membership for Scandinavian Countries – an area that has ALWAYS been NEUTRAL ground and should REMAIN so…to act as a buffer zone for both NATO and Russia.

They may not like Russia’s response….as one scribe noted, it would take at most ~ 20 min for a number of Hypersonic missiles targeting NATO HQ, and every EU defense HQ as well. And that would be that.

Sure, Sweden managed to stay out of WW2 and was (sometimes pretended to be) neutral during the cold war. That’s a short 50 year period or so, which is nothing in the big scheme of things.
Now, with Russia invading an independent neighboring country (yes, not a great country, I know), the situation has become a bit more serious, which is why Sweden now will apply to become a Nato member.

Russia has a number or Nato neighbors already (USA; Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland), so why would Sweden/Finland make a difference?
Putin can say it was the plan all the time, to gang up on Russia.
The larger the alliance against Russia – and that is why NATO exists – the more Russia can, right or wrong, justify whatever Putin’s goals are.
Both sides keep using the word nuclear. I think that’s very important. Its easier to launch a missile than get a tank to the war front.
