  1. Where will the manure come from since we will be transitioned to non meat options like bugs , I’m not collecting bug poop. There will be no cows, pigs, sheep to provide the manure or those lovely chips and steaks

      It saddens,but doesn’t surprise me,that people don’t seem to realize that most products originated in a natural state but were refined or synthesized to produce a more effective product ,be it fertilizer or medicine.

      Sure, let’s use manure to fertilize our crops,which in the amounts we would need for the massive industry that is agriculture, would be in short supply within weeks.

    Composting has been happening before we even broke this land and continue to do so along with all manure is being applied to farmland now. Beyond stupid !

  16. Historically the farming method was 1 field fallow, 2 fields growing crops. Plus there were fields not tilled were for pasture (cows, sheep and horse power). Let’s rough it in at cutting crop land in half. That’s a lot less crop land which is likely yielding significantly lower. We are going to lose 50%-75% of the world’s population to “punish Russia”? Going 1600’s.

    1. Funny how these “experts” blame fertilizer for increased food production and thus population increases, but are, so far, a bit coy about the medical advances that paralleled the industrial revolution, many of which only really happened in the 20th century (anti-biotics, for one).

  18. The farmers here will be planting the fields with corn in a couple of weeks. Soybeans will come a bit later. Perhaps Samantha Power would like to spend the next four months or so on an Iowa farm. She’d learn a lot.
