  1. Brad at Cultural Action Party for Canada is not optimistic. Elsewhere he has opined that we may never again see a Conservative government in Canada.

Canadians Want Pierre Poilievre And That’s Why Jean Charest Will Win

    https://capforcanada.com/canadians-want-pierre-poilievre-and-thats-why-jean-charest-will-win/

If he does it’ll be a WEF hat trick. Trudeau, Singh, Charest. Harper has said that if Charest becomes a leadership candidate he’ll get involved.

    1. That’s one reason Ezra Levant coined the term “media party”.

    2. “Harper has said that if Charest becomes a leadership candidate he’ll get involved.”

Oooooo, I’ll bet the three of them are just shaking in their boots. “Please, oh please, not the Harper!” Where’s that technicolour vomiting emoticon when you need it…

        1. Thank you. May I have another?

BTW, if you actually feel like discussing the topic, rather than lobbing ad hom. attacks like other meatheads on this site, feel free to do so. Otherwise, FOAD.

          1. “lobbing ad hom. attacks”

You’re asking an awful lot. For many, it’s all they have.

    3. Very plausible theory, and most likely correct. Conservative leadership would be downright dumb to listen to lie-berals, and their media minions as to who their next leader would be… OTOH, Conservative leadership has proven themselves to be that dumb.
I wish they would listen to the people for once and realize that placating and appeasing lie-berals and their media cohorts WON’T WORK.
Pick a leader that the people can rally around, and we may actually have a chance of winning the next election… if we survive that long.

    1. People wonder why they’re having trouble filling open positions..

My last interview ended with the Where do you see yourself in 5 years nonsense
      I said look,
I’m applying for a job that involves me standing in one spot doing the same thing over and over again thousands of times. I wasn’t expecting a 45 min interview full of deep psychological questions.
      Wherever life takes me.

      1. And, when you’re turned down for the job, you’re told you didn’t make a good “fit”. Been there, suffered greatly for it.

        1. Imagine the first dog as a long-hair and you have an idea what the last female that my parents had looked like. She was gorgeous!

          1. Yes, they are beautiful and so intelligent as well. I just noticed how well they can ‘back up’ in a straight line. That must be a genetic trait — as they’re bred to exist for hunting purposes, makes the breed even more cute.

I never saw my ‘Old Yeller’ do it quite like that! He was more clumsy. He was an excellent swimmer and could fetch a large branch and bring it back to shore as if his life depended on it. I miss him too!

P.S. I see you posted from the “bored panda” site, they showed the dappled ones there. Yes, there are so many different types within the breed– all are great.

  2. I just finished watching the movie Freejack. Let’s just say I won’t be getting a DVD copy of it any time soon.

Instead, how about King of the Khyber Rifles with Tyrone Power:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT719RUMjYY

It’s been years since I’ve seen this one, but I remember it being a great rip-snorting adventure.

    1. I do have a DVD of that one, I like to collect 80s and 90s cheese.

      This however is not cheese.
I bring you “With Fire and Sword” it is an epic set against Khmelnytsky Uprising (Ukrainian) against Poland in the 17th century. It is based on a book published in the 19th century in occupied Poland and is a very one sided view of the conflict, so don’t look in it for accurate historical portrayal. Still, the film is well made and acted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwrlrfSQghM CC only, it works well, sorry no English dubbing version. Hope you’ll like it.

I like golden trash movies myself because their quality and cinematic ineptitude are often much more entertaining than the actual presentation itself. Anything directed by Ed Wood is definitely something to behold….. and laugh at.

I’m not sure, though, if I’d be willing to buy copies of them for my collection.

As for your offering, I’ll take a look at it. Fortunately, there are subtitles, at least for the bit I just looked at.

Sometimes seeing a movie that’s dubbed into a different language without any translation available can be entertaining on its own. The first time I saw the movie Tai-Pan, only a German-language version was available on YouTube. It was hilarious to watch. A few years later, however, I finally saw it in English, courtesy of a VHS copy I inherited from my parents.

  4. “Ukraine’s agriculture ministry on Saturday revised up its forecast for the area to be sown to 2022 spring crops…
Around 13.4 million hectares of various commodities, such as corn, cereals, sugar beet and sunflower might be sown this year, 3.5 million hectares less than in 2021. The forecast is significantly higher than an estimate in March from Roman Leshchenko, then the agriculture minister, who said the 2022 spring crop sowing area could more than halve from last year to some 7 million hectares.”

Ukrainian farmers are winning. When not stealing Russian armoured vehicles and tanks, they are sewing a huge amount of land, in the middle of a war.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-ups-2022-spring-sowing-area-forecast-ministry-2022-04-02/

    1. Well if they want tanks they’d have to steal them from someone, seeing as Russia destroyed all of Ukraine’s tanks in the first week.
BTW, don’t put too much stock in the western media. They’re not especially impartial and you may find your expectations somewhat diminished.

  5. Our politicians have turned Canada into a housing speculators dream of NEVER dropping in prices no matter what creative way they try to manipulate it. Too many factors involved that will keep stocks of houses low while still driving the prices up.

That old house depreciating was replaced by being an investment.
    https://www.howestreet.com/2022/04/housing-cheaper-to-rent-than-own-is-a-warning-for-buyers-and-lenders/

Until our infrastructure breaks and we have intermittent electricity, too many factors are in place that just will increase the prices even further.

I have a relative that is moving to North Bay, Ontario in which this has been months and many homes she has tried to buy for a cheaper house with the children.

    1. Yup. I found out all about that in the past few years.

Since I inherited my house in B. C., I’ve been paying property tax on it and the detached garage that’s on the lot. Shortly after my father died, I had the house appraised to establish its value for when I eventually sell it.

But here’s the twist. B. C. Assessment estimates its value at around a third more. I called them in an attempt to convince them that my house and property were worth much less than that. I was given a cock-and-bull story about how the price was based on “comparable” houses in “similar” settings. Uh-huh….. The house is almost 60 years old, it needs a lot of work and it’s in an older developed residential area.

BCA gave in and reduced the value by….. about 7 or 8%. Whoopee!

My property taxes didn’t go down because the town had to get its cut out of me as well.

    2. Gentlemen,
One of the few times the city ‘might’ change your house and lot assessment for tax purposes is if your property were to become a vacant lot. I’ve heard of it being a fact, if say, a house we’re to burn down and owners choose to not rebuild for lack of funds or their Estate has to sell the empty lot.

    3. North Bay has been a crazy market for the past year. Southerners selling high, and finding lovely SPACE up here, and beaches. The city is parked between 2 large clean lakes. Your relative has to be prepped for a bidding war.

      1. The truth doesn’t care about your feelings Chris.
Most of the Ukrainian supporters have no idea how flagrantly they’re being played. Even the chosen location for the false flag was selected on playing with your emotions.
What I find most amusing and somewhat disturbing is how easily most of you fall for stories from a media that’s spent the last six years lying to you. You’ll admit that they lie, yet here you are.
        Slow learners.

        1. I’m curious. Are you on the direct payroll of the Russian butchers or are you being borrowed from your normal job of posting for the Chicoms?

  6. My wife made me watch an episode of CBC’s “The Porter”, i.e. this series:
    https://gem.cbc.ca/media/the-porter/s01

All I can say is that this series is very racist and anti-white, incredibly so. Virtually all the blacks are depicted as noble and hard working. Virtually every single white character is a racial bigot, a sneering money-grubbing jerk.

The reason the corrupt CBC has a declining audience share is that its propaganda is so heavy-handed. The news division is chock full of black Canadians, and Indians, that the propaganda is seen as such by apolitical, low-information Canadians.

    1. My wife made me watch an episode of CBC’s “The Porter”

Oh, dear….. I’m sure there are some couples for which that would be considered just grounds for divorce. (Mental cruelty? Insanity, maybe?)

      1. Buying more than 9% of a company’s stock does give one a great deal of influence.

  7. I think the heart of the message is being almost entirely missed here…

Democrat Tulsi Gabbard Goes Against Party & Exposes Their Insane Hysteria – Rubin

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LMH3z-6-dw

It’s great that Tulsi is so clear-headed on Florida’s parental rights bill. It’s even great she thinks it should be extended right through graduation, but her and Dave stop quite short, at least in the context of this clip, of defining the elephant in the room. Of course it is the right and responsibility of parents to teach their children about such things as morality and sexuality, but what about the increasing number of families incapable of this? Today’s cultural wars alone have created all manner of irrational people, many who are unfortunately parents, themselves. So, who helps those who are struggling with parenting? We know leftards demand government be involved, but clear thinkers realize that it is FAMILY and COMMUNITY that need to step forward.

But, it is the very party that Tulsi Gabbard has represented during her political career that has targeted community, church and family as enemies to their steadfast mission to control everything. They have been purposely and systematically destroying the cohesion that binds American communities through endless screams and accusations of isms and phobias. They undermine the brotherhood of Christianity and drive wedges between sub-groups at every opportunity, their hate-filled rhetoric and outrageous lies against certain groups are simply off the scale.

Tulsi Gabbard is only slightly less phony and two-faced than your average Democrat. I will never trust her until she openly admits and addresses all of the above. That was my final takeaway, anyways.

    1. Concur, but consider how the progressives react whenever she makes any statement now.

She has become a deplorable in the eyes of the left and the DNC establishment.

Here’s a scenario that will warm your heart.

Imagine it’s after the midterm elections and all eyes turn to Ol joe and the democrats hoping that the asterisk will decide he won’t run for a second term.
Then just in time for an abbreviated primary, he declares that he “achieved” all he can and will work to help get the nominee elected.
The first one to declare is Tulsi.
The woke, the left, the establishment, and their presstitutes lose it when her first endorsement comes from Donald Trump.

      Yeah, it’s a dream.

    1. This, from someone who can’t even figger out which post to reply to? Whose the dumb one?

  8. the birth year of our lord, AKA Barrack Obama was 1971. Every black man born that year had the word negro on his birth certificate, with the exception of Barrack who was labelled African American. I find that strange since the term was not used until 1980 when Jesse Jackson used it in a speech.

  9. I lost a lot of respect for Kristi Noem after she bailed on her original legislation banning XX vs XY sports. This helps some.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem Will Sign Executive Order Banning Critical Race Theory in State’s K-12 Schools

    1. It’ll only become feasible when it’s sustainable for long periods of time. Until then, it’s a source for publications that the researchers will use to get their grants.

    1. Sexual deviants are a protected class under the Liberal government’s interpretation of the law.

    2. But if it had been “sexual assault including mischief”, they would have been in BIG Trouble! They would have been in jail, no bail, and brought into court in shackles. It is Ottawa and that’s how Ottawa rolls.

    3. Good thing these “alleged” sexual assaulters weren’t improperly parking large commercial vehicles. Then they would REALLY be in trouble.

  10. True/ not true?
They were sent on a suicide mission to collect Lt.General Coultier, who was, we are told, hiding in a huge industrial complex with some Special Forces staffers and about 30 Ukrainian Army, not Azov, soldiers.

    1. I’ll add, a real s#@tshow will break on Monday if what I have seen in Instapundit comments is accurate.
I’ll get ahead and state, “Hunter Biden did not kill himself”
Somebody’s posting photos that are very, very interesting.

  11. More evidence has emerged which counters the official narrative of the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa. A second person has been arrested in the attempted arson in downtown Ottawa close to where the Freedom Convoy members were parked. Like the first person charged, the second person has no connection to the Freedom Convoy.

“Ottawa police arson investigators have charged a second man in connection with a fire alleged to have been deliberately set in an apartment building on Lisgar Street early on Feb. 6.

The 41-year-old Ottawa man is charged with arson with disregard for human life, arson causing property damage, mischief to property endangering life, mischief to property and possession of incendiary materials.

There is no indication that the man charged was involved in the “Freedom Convoy” protest underway in the downtown core at the time, the Ottawa Police Service said in a release Wednesday.

A 21-year-old man faces the same charges, police said on March 21, adding at the time there was also no information that the Ottawa man was linked to the protest.

The fire caused minor damage, police said, and no one was injured.”
