  1. Nothing ,nothing like a Government Run Nuclear Power Plant Project,to provide unlimited opportunities to steal.
We would be better off building nuclear weapons in Saskatchewan..
For use against Our Eastern Comrades.
If and when modular nuclear plants are available on the commercial market,we should buy them..
Allowing any of our current crop of Fools and Bandits to be involved is sure disaster.
Try to imagine a Nuclear power plant designed by a committee of our current “experts and helpers”.

    1. In Ontario, working for Bruce Power, the common joke was:

      ” …a thousand a week to play hide n seek…”

      117 Permits to replace a Leaky 4″ check valve….

From time of first reported, said valve would take ~ 2 weeks to replace…

      Sosayeth a “mechanical maintainer”

  2. SNC Lavalin will design it and Bomdardier will build it. Sure glad Canada is free of corruption.

    1. Actually, SNC Lavalin is the largest contractor in Canada so they could build it as well.

Bombardier will be too busy building their electric jets and trains.

      1. SNC has already done most of the design work. Seems its loosly based on the old CANDU design.
Now its just a matter of paying off the feds and other grifters to get permission to start cranking them out.

  3. “…have put forward a nuclear plan that they say will transition them toward cleaner energy.”

Why? Alberta already has a shit load of good, clean, readily available natural gas. We don’t need no steekin’ nukes. Especially when they’re going to be overseen by the same dumb bastards who couldn’t manage a so-called, “pandemic”.

    1. One of two things have to happen before Alberta can exploit its energy resources:
      1. They can elect a provincial gov’t with the balls to defy the feds, which will never happen.
      2. The feds give them permission to, which is dependent on getting a competent gov’t in Ottawa, also very unlikely.

Look on the bright side: The energy will still be there for your great-great grandchildren.

    2. DB, just a small aside. Reactors can’t be built without fossil fuels. The reality is, nothing can.

    1. Courtesy of Admiral Hyman Rickover, who established the American nuclear navy. He was tough and hard-nosed, personally interviewing the officers that would serve on his boats (one of whom was Jimmy Carter). If he were alive today, I can only imagine what he’d do to General “Thoroughly Modern” Milley.

  4. stateside. the company to watch is OKLO – they are making great advances despite their most recent regulatory setback – the paperwork must be ridiculously red in colour and sticky too!
oh! and they make them cottage size.
