This is just odd. It’s reversed. Minimum sentencing brought into the guidelines of the 21st century would logically increase since culture changed from previous centuries, but not in a fashion that would accept these relationships. Just the contrary. Were we to time travel back to the 1600’s and 1700’s, there would be a “valid” argument to relax the mandatory minimum sentencing since marriages (hence, relationships) were more centered around the pragmatic. Marrying very young was not an outlandish occurrence…as it would be considered today.
There is something very odd about her position…and it would make more sense if it wasn’t her position but “her’s by proxy.”
