For once I am in compl;ete agreement with Zoolander- pay lip service to this , support the sactions and send some trinkets , but no sending our troops to war or sending materiel that the Russians would interpret as an act of war. I was furious that Chretien refused to join the US in Iraq (he was totally right) and the US and NATO turned the war in Afghansitan into a rout.

    1. 1. The most important move Canada can make is to increase the oil supply. Trudeau has not done that. Banning Russian imports is not comparable (even symbolically, to be so ostentatiously ineffective is more like an insult.)

    The United Nations today announced that 23 children in the Ukraine have died, which is a travesty and tragedy. But it is not casus belli for World War 3 or ‘another holocaust’ or ‘genocide’.

  16. I’m deeply disturbed by some of the comments I’ve seen here, mostly by the same usual actors.
    If this forum is to survive, I would suggest that the people posting some of these disgusting comments refrain from their emotions and at least make an attempt to be civil, or I’m going to suggest to the moderators, for their own sake, to exercise some restraint.

    I am not a fan of censorship, but if little children can’t control themselves, I will ask that the adults in the room to exercise some discipline.

I learn a lot from them, but when I see bile garbage posted, regardless of the reason, I tend to dismiss the author as nothing more than a raving lunatic, and I don’t think I’m alone.

      We all have biases…anyone says otherwise is simply lying…but keeping it civil isn’t a huge ask.

    5. I have to say the pro Ukraine/Zelensky side here has been civil with me and not personal. They have just attacked my OPINIONS, not me. I hope I have done likewise with them. After all, we are both entitled to our opinions, but it’s not to be decided here what are the FACTS.

      I’m like anyone else, I suppose, and probably would respond kind to a personal attack. There’s not much to be gained though as this just escalates(to use a word in vogue) to a place that is not a good place to go.

      The owner of this website and I share a passion: Free Speech. And, I would like to think most of the commentators do too.
