Here’s a 1943 film entitled The Moon is Down, about the Nazis occupying a Norwegian mining town. With an 83% rating on RT, it’s worth a watch.

If you have any news tips that you think the rest of us should be looking at, please do share them!

  1. I cannot watch anything Norwegian (even if it’s being occupied) after what they’ve done to Brazil. Good Day.

    1. I take similar pleasure in seeing Brazil beat as this Oakland A’s fan takes in a NY Yankees loss. We all enjoy seeing the GIANTS tumble.

Embrace your inner Viking! Your inner Scandinavian … and admire the greatest striker to ever pull on a pair of boots. Who has been shattering records wherever he goes!

And this Arsenal fan has been a massive Martin Odegaard fan since we got him on loan from Real Madrid. Row the Viking Boat!!

        1. And how about Argentina’s 3 – 2 comeback win over Egypt, with those 3 goals coming in the last 12 minutes of the game.

GOAT Lionel Messi led the charge, assisting on the first goal and scoring the second, after failing on a penalty kick in the first half.

          1. Very dramatic; England’s return from the dead was even more so, down to 10 men.

          2. Hardly, Argentina had their backs to the wall being down 2 -zip and pulled it off in the last few minutes, whereas England was ahead from the 38 min. mark.

          3. I admit to mocking the OLD men of the WC as being overhyped by FIFA and … past it. CR7, Modric, and Messi in particular. Soccer today is not a sport for 40yo’s.

Well, they’ve ALL proven me to not only be WRONG, but a blithering idiot. But Messi’s performance yesterday was a thing for the AGES! He opens the match by hitting a laughably saveable PK … that would have pretty well RUINED most players ‘heads’ for the rest of the match. Not Messi.

I have never seen a player more ‘stuck-in’ to a match than Messi yesterday. He was flying around the pitch. He was EVERYWHERE. And he was getting thumped, bumped, and abused (whenever a player could even touch him). He looked as good as he ever was at the peak of his powers.

It is unconscionable that a player like Messi is playing in the laughable MLS. Which proves he’s not stupid. He’s not gonna PAY the confiscatory Spanish-Communist taxes. He doesn’t NEED to play in La Liga to get PAID or to prove his worth. Nope. He fled to Red State America for his own good. Where his jersey sales and personal imagery contracts have exploded. He’s anything but a dumb jock. I hope he enjoys his retirement years here in America!

          4. To put this in American football terms, it would be equivalent to Peyton Manning leading the NFL in passing yards and rushing yards, not only for a season, but over his whole career. It’s unthinkable. How do you both a) score more than everyone else and b) help others score more than anyone else? Even Michael Jordan never led the NBA in both scoring and assists. The only real comparison is to Wayne Gretzky, which tends to underline the Messi’s case.

A very good analogy … and bespeaks the absolute GOAT Messi is.

    1. Didn’t she also say she decided to just lay there and wait till it was over? The ONLY time that strategy can be defended is when a woman believes her life would be in imminent danger if she fought back against her rape.

So she’s admitting he is a potential murderer. Nice choice Democrats … nice choice.
But then … the Democrats aren’t very good at choosing candidates.

    1. What a FANTASTIC summary of Homer’s female characters! Too funny.

Circe turns men into pigs, which frankly is still the most realistic female character arc in literature.<

LOL OL OL OL OL OL …

    2. I’m old enough to remember when The Great Ulysses (the Latin name for Odysseus) was loved, admired, and spawned great art in that admiration.

Now that great art has been defaced with woke graffiti. Shameful.

      You thought the leaden winter
      Would bring you down forever
But you rode upon a steamer
To the violence of the sun

And the colours of the sea
Bind your eyes with trembling mermaids
And you touch the distant beaches
      With tales of brave Ulysses
How his naked ears were tortured
      By the sirens sweetly singing
For the sparkling waves are calling you
To kiss their white laced lips

And you see a girl’s brown body
      Dancing through the turquoise
And her footprints make you follow
Where the sky loves the sea
And when your fingers find her
She drowns you in her body
      Carving deep blue ripples
In the tissues of your mind

      Tiny purple fishes
      Run laughing through your fingers
And you want to take her with you
To the hard land of the winter

      Her name is Aphrodite
And she rides a crimson shell
And you know you cannot leave her
For you touched the distant sands
      With tales of brave Ulysses
How his naked ears were tortured
      By the sirens sweetly singing

      Tiny purple fishes
      Run laughing through your fingers
And you want to take her with you
To the hard land of the winter

TLDNR … but true art in admiration of the art

    1. It’s not complicated or confusing at all.

Trump shows his mighty sword in a demonstration of the power of the lone world Superpower. Then he says Give Peace a Chance ™️ and negotiates a settlement. When his opponent chooses War and Conflict instead … he will put them to the sword.

They were given a choice. Including Putin. Given a choice … in Alaska, and in Islamabad. But these two States are choosing … poorly.

  2. I thought “The Moon Is Down” was about Donald Duck offensively dropping his trousers?

    1. Blue … States

      Blue, songs are like tattoos
You know I’ve been to sea before
      Crown and anchor me
      Or let me sail away
Hey Blue, there’s a song for you
      Ink on a pin
      Underneath the skin
An empty space to fill in
Well there’re so many sinking now
      You’ve got to keep thinking
You can make it thru these waves
      Acid, booze, and ass
      Needles, guns, and grass
Lots of laughs, lots of laughs

Everybody’s saying that hell’s the hippest way to go
      Well I don’t think so
But I’m gonna take a look around it though
      Blue, I love you

Blue, here is a shell for you
      Inside you’ll hear a sigh
      A foggy lullaby

More great art gone – unheeded … lost to a generation that lost its way.

    1. I thought H1-b Visas were for … rare and talented employees. How is a $40k/yr job suitable for a rare … talented … immigrant?

The average salary in the U.S. is approximately $66,622 as of 2025. This figure can vary based on factors like location, industry, and experience.

      1. Obviously you just are not virtuous enough to want to replace all the local workers with diverse 3rd worlders!

If the Liberals find out you are going to have to go to a CBC reeducation camp where you get to listen to Rosemary Barton 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until your wrongthink has been corrected.

    1. The champion WARRIOR uses every weapon at his disposal. If the SCOTUS bans our guns … we’ll just stab Newsom in the eye with a penknife … Good move.
