The Corruption of Canada’s Legacy Media

A vast right wing conspiracy becomes reality.

Last month when True North broke the story of Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland holding a Nazi banner at a Ukrainian rally in Toronto, a handful of legacy media reporters picked up our scoop.

Most wrote their stories according to Freelend’s Liberal spin – that Freeland had done nothing wrong, the any critics of the Liberals were spreading “Russian disinformation” and that True North’s journalists were to blame for writing this story.

So much for holding a powerful politician accountable for her reckless actions.

  1. Brave young lady!
    “default to government message”
    No surprise there.
So glad Western Standard has hired her.

    1. For all of dads and moms that love to stay home to take care of their loved ones,

  2. “The Liberal Party fosters and nurtures a culture of corruption “… Judge Gomery… the adscam white wash.

  3. Viva Frei did a livestream interview with Alexa Lavoie today. She’s working on an in depth report about the confederate and nazi flags – likely early next week. I’m sure there will be more cabinet level corruption revealed.

  4. We know the government is corrupt at all levels. What will be done about it? Zip, zero, nada.

  5. How can they say that it’s become reality when anyone paying attention could’ve seen it for themselves at anytime over the last 50 years. Any political panels were always stacked 2 or 3 to 1 against the conservative who could never get in a word edgewise anyway. Lib scandals were always swept under the rug while conservative molehills were made into mountains. The only difference now is that since they’re getting paid for it now they feel they no longer have to occasionally pretend to be fair and balanced.

  6. The funny thing is that there isn’t any conservatives in Canada to be biased against. Derek Sloane spoke some mild truth, and the Toole took him out in true Liberal style. The Toole could be a Liberal candidate except for his time in the military, the Liberals hate them worst of all.

    1. Can anyone name a true Conservative in Canadian History say back to the 1950’s.
Dief the Chief gave us socialized medicine, Harper sat on 4.1 Trillion in Debt and said Trudeau’s Just Not Ready. Harper also had an iron clad majority and could have sold off the CBC but instead he just pissed himself. Name on e a true Conservative.
Only one I can think of was Stirling Lyon of Manitoba. The only sitting Premier who wanted Canadians to have Property Rights enshrined, and Peter Lougheed the Communist said No Fucking Way

  7. She doesn’t know why they couldn’t see her POV. Well that’s because they’re Liberals and when you’re part of that Collective Beast you forfeit your identity. And your soul.

  8. Could there be anything stupider than the Canadian media arguing that they need government handouts from a board that judges whether they are real media or not to maintain a strong and independent media?

“A strong and independent news media is crucial to a well-functioning democracy. It empowers citizens by providing them with the information they need to make sound decisions on important issues. The support we are delivering for Canadian journalism will help our media adapt to a rapidly changing and increasingly digital information landscape. By doing so, they will continue to be able to provide Canadians with reliable and informed journalism and information, in an increasingly complex and challenging world.”

“The Local Journalism Initiative is a $50 million, five-year effort created and funded by the Canadian government to support local and civic journalism for underserved communities. To administer the fund while “protecting the independence of the press,” the Department of Canadian Heritage entrusted seven nonprofit organizations representing various segments of the news industry with soliciting applications from news outlets, creating independent panels of judges, and administering one-year, renewable grants.”

  9. Elsewhere in Deputy Fuhrer Freeland’s Deep State, members of her military and diplomatic corps have had meetings with Ukraine’s openly-Nazi Azov Battalion:

“Canadian officials who met with members of a Ukrainian battalion linked to neo-Nazis didn’t denounce the unit, but were instead concerned the media would expose details of the get-together, according to newly released documents.

The Canadians met with and were briefed by leaders from the Azov Battalion in June 2018. The officers and diplomats did not object to the meeting and instead allowed themselves to be photographed with battalion officials despite previous warnings that the unit saw itself as pro-Nazi. The Azov Battalion then used those photos for its online propaganda, pointing out the Canadian delegation expressed “hopes for further fruitful co-operation.”

  10. Globe and Mail gets a call from Freelands office to tweak the ‘story’ and nobody blinks??

  11. Chrystia Freeland in a book about Russia attempted to bury her grandfather Michael Chomiak’s (1905-1984) nazi past. Following the war had he not escaped from Europe he might have found himself at Nuremberg.

Chrystia was raised with her grandfather up in the Peace River country of northern Alberta. She well knew her grandpa’s past. Her hatred of everything Russian came from her upbringing and her families nazi sympathies.

Twitter is all abuzz about a story about Rebel media and the Christchurch massacre. The Globe and Mail is fuelling the buzz.
    Deflecting much?
‘Cuz it is perfectly fine for the guvament to tell Legacy media what to write.
