Sounds like Canada. Biden’s banana republic.

The woke crowd still busy. Conservative EU countries facing pressure.

Yeah, that must be the reason. Atlantic blames misogyny for arrest.

Today in Islam. Muslim migrants trash churches in Greece. And diversity among Ukrainian refugees.

  1. Idiot eco terrorists protest at awards show for idiot actors.

The word “idiot” is redundant in both places.

    1. I agree with the AT writer’s sentiment … that the best conclusion to the War in Ukraine is a swift Russian victory.

And once again, I take issue with the latest Fox News anti-Putin hysteric VDH and his various “Grecian” outcomes to the war in Ukraine. Why, pray tell, does VDH cite 4 different GREEK battles of history as potential templates for the Ukraine invasion? “Democracy”!! Yes, VDH has proven himself to be a lickspittle Fox News Ukraine apologist … and is shamelessly comparing Ukraine to the cradle of Democracy – Ancient Greece. Shame on you VDH. The Ukraine is NO Democracy … unless you consider Pax Obama an actual “democracy”. Hence it is just as feasible for the Ukraine war to conclude more along the lines of The Overrun countries of the Soviet Union … invasions and takeovers with a whimper. No comedian turned puppet President is gonna become a Greek Hero. Nice try VDH. Your allusion is crap. Laughable in its preposterousness.

      1. @Kenji – “that the best conclusion to the War in Ukraine is a swift Russian victory.”

Whether a “victory” or not, the best conclusion would be an immediate peace deal whereas the Ukrainian government agrees to Putin’s stated demands (trusting that those are real of course). This way Ukraine isn’t occupied but keeps it’s sovereignty as a Neutral Buffer Zone between Russia and NATO.

As far as the Donbass, as I understand it, Putin is asking for Autonomy. Sure why not, sounds something akin to Quebec – personally I think Ukraine should just abandon the Donbass as “not Ukrainian territory” and let them go whichever way they want, cut off from the Ukrainian Nation (unlike Quebec). Ukrainian speakers in the Donbass should relocate west if they choose, it’s much better than living in a smoking ruin.

As a newly drawn sovereign country Ukraine would still be able to trade economically with anyone they choose, like Switzerland historically. They simply cannot be apart of the EU or NATO regime, which is not a bad thing at all.

        1. A peace deal which includes the complete dissolution of the Ukraine oligarchy? And assurances of American Deep State hands OFF Ukraine?

Wish I were as optimistic as you, but I don’t see the Western POWERS as willing to let go of their nascent vassal State. Too many Big $$$ AMERICAN Tax dollars to launder still. Too many populist President’s to topple with a phone call monitored by some Ukraine expat Major,

          1. Agreed, that is why the Ukraine is nothing but a big money making pit for the west.

What I recommend is meant for a sensible Ukrainian government that doesn’t want to see it’s country turn into a barren brutal wasteland like Afghanistan. If they don’t care, well that is what they will end up with.

Hopefully they put their “true patriotism” to the test, by rejecting the west and bargaining peace with Russia. We will see.

          2. The Big Guy has to have a place to launder the benefits of his criminality. Ukraine is it.

  2. Zelensky, and his globalist backers, have two choices: recognition of Russia’s right to exist or annihilation.

Russians are increasingly admitting that saving themselves will require the use of weapons of mass destruction. Nothing short of a pre-emptive nuclear strike is likely to remove the will and the ability of the globalist governments of the West to make war on Russia.

Moreover, no significant opposition to defending Russia still exists. Russia’s globalist fifth column are fleeing the country, choosing to die with Russia’s rapists than defend their mother.

The globalists and Ukrainian bigots dream of the defeat of Putin and the dismemberment of the Russian Federation into pieces easily sold to the Chinese for pennies on the dollar.

What is far more likely is victory of Russia over her enemies so total that those enemies will never again pose a meaningful military threat to anyone, never mind Russia.

As an added bonus, nobody living on that happy day will ever hear another word about climate change or trans rights.

  3. the Bafta thing?
sumbuddy gonna tap the ecos on da shoulderand tell them they are to NEVER board or use ANY form of transit that uses hydrocarbons to propel itself OR that hydrocarbons were used in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER in its manufacture.
same with E-V-E-R-Y consumer product on the friggin planet. that includes housing and food production.
they are NOT permitted to EVER occupy a building where even manufacturing of *the tools* used in its construction had ANYTHING
to do with consumption of oil. they are NOT permitted to use roads paved with tarmac OR even concrete because the concrete was brought to the site in vehicles powered by OIL. etc etc

    thats just for starters.

  4. This is a very confused article which presents two opposing theses, and makes no effort to reconcile them, nor to reach any sensible conclusion; and finally makes no clear distinction between oil sands operators and traditional drillers. I’m curious what Canadians “on the ground” see from their oil industry.
    1) Drill Baby, Drill?
    2) Staying conservative and keeping focus on operational efficiency?
#2 is what I believe we’re seeing from most US firms. They’ve been screwed so badly by Biden that they know any encouragement to turn on the taps could be reversed in two weeks. I also think they’d like to see him and the several liberal coastal states that have sued them repeatedly experience some suffering.
