For all the dismissive language used over the last two weeks by self-described “fact-checkers,” it is confirmed that the U.S. has worked with Ukraine, as recently as last year, in the “development of a bio-risk management culture; international research partnerships; and partner capacity for enhanced bio-security, bio-safety, and bio-surveillance measures.” The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine publicly boasted of its collaborative work with Ukraine “to consolidate and secure pathogens and toxins of security concern and to continue to ensure Ukraine can detect and report outbreaks caused by dangerous pathogens before they pose security or stability threats.”
Who in the hell would think Russia does not have biological research facilities? Do I really have to pose the question? Is everybody really stupid?

1. Are we applying the same level of scepticism, here , as to claims of chemical and biological weapons in Iraq?
2. When we invaded Iraq, most of our troops were wearing NBC-protective clothing because the risk was taken seriously. Are the Russians wearing NBC protection? If not, why not.
3. Research labs are not delivery systems.
No-one in their right minds puts factories within reach of their enemies. Laboratories and factories are kept safe in the rear, only weapons and delivery systems are placed where they can threaten the enemy. The narrative that laboratories “threaten” Russia is wrong.
Wuhan is not on the American border. How much difference did that make?
To even expand on #1, research on biological weapons is not banned. However for Iraq it certainly was. Ukraine is not Iraq.

Biological research is common and normal in nations with a significant agricultural and medical industry. Distinctions are not always obvious…. as a certain US President found out when he ordered the bombing of a “chemical weapons facility” that turned out to be mmanufacturing baby formula or some such.

if that was the case, it makes no sense to put LABORATORIES close to the Russian border where they are vulnerable. It would be like putting up a sign saying “ATTENTION RUSSIAN DICTATORS”
Worried about the Russian Missile or Artillery attacks spreading a lab pathogen? Simple solution.
Disinfect AND Destroy every pathogen and infectious disease sample, culture and specimen in every lab. Anything critical or unique? Remove it from Ukraine. Remove all the data. Disinfect everything in the lab down to the toilets in the Ladies Room. Then do it all over again. Store the equipment.

I hope that the US is engaged with many of its allies and partners in all kinds of activities that shouldn’t fall in the hands of the Russians. I don’t think that’s scandalous or even noteworthy. What shocked me was the collaboration with the Chinese Communists in Wuhan. If I have to decide between Ukrainian patriots and a lifelong leftwing agitator like Greenwald, that’s an easy choice. Not all „truth telling“ is honorable. Traitors are traitors because they tell the enemy what the enemy shouldn’t know or what he can use as propaganda. Just about every nation has biological research facilities. This is not the same as a military biological weapons program. I’m not even sure why this is a story. The concern I have is Russia is really pushing this, which means preparations for a false flag attack. They’ve already used illegal munitions, and have used chemical weapons in Syria.
