  3. I’ve known that Canada was in trouble for a long time but I didn’t realize just how bad it was going to be until I saw a poll in MacLean’s about 15 years ago. They had surveyed something like 1700 college age people from across the country and the result was 72% would not enlist or support a war, would in fact actively protest against it, even if it was against Hitler. Juxtapose that against the number of Canadians who served in World War 1, a full 1/6th of the population and the only conclusion you can reach is we’ve lost our way and are going to pay dearly for it.

    1. World War 1 was a waste of life. Think how much better Canada would be if we had never participated and hadn’t lost all those brave and well meaning men.

      Canada today isn’t worth fighting for. If Putin invaded I would welcome it.

      1. Jeff, I agree 100% on WW1. Sadly our fathers and grandfathers died in vain in WW2 to stop the nazis, as we now have 1930’s Germany right here in Canada. I just can no longer fathom the level of stupid needed to do what we are allowing to be done. If I was a young man I sure as hell would not fight and die for a bunch of freaking welfare immigrants and greedy Canadian socialists.

  9. We have a bunch of idiots leading us: nationally, provincially and municipally. Unfortunately, the majority of the Canadian electorate are leftists – 62%. A conservative government at any level is a thing of the past. Imagine, here in BC, on the island where I live, the majority want to keep the mandates alive – masks, social distancing and passports – and going on forever. We will have Trudough forever or until he quits. There is no way out except to leave the country.

    My father served Canada,5 years.

  13. I think the contortions being performed to rationalize us meddling in another war in Europe should be instructional. The only thing stopping us is nukes.
    So: nuclear deterrence works (so far), sorry hippies, and Iran is probably well advised to get the bomb if it doesn’t want to be destroyed by the west the next time it needs a war.
    On a lighter note, I would not send my sons to fight in a foreign war. We were fools to do it before but we could at least say we didn’t know any better.
