February 16, 2022: Reader Tips

This evening we celebrate the once great Canada but rightfully worry that it is under an existential threat unlike anything before in its 155 year history. To that end, here is a beautiful rendition of O’Canada. Lest you’ve forgotten, here is the first verse:

O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love thou dost in us command.
We see thee rising fair, dear land,
The True North, strong and free;
And stand on guard, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.

Tucker Carson devoted the first quarter of his show this evening to Dear Leader Trudeau’s Martial Law Declaration in his Canuckistan.

Bonus: Here are the next two Faces of Protest portraits taken by Dan Aponte (on Facebook) :

“You can’t force freedom on people, but they sure do flock to it.”

    1. The fourth verse is most important and oft forgotten:

Ruler Supreme, who hearest humble pray’r,
Hold our dominion within thy loving care.
Help us to find, O God, in thee
      A lasting, rich reward,
As waiting for the Better Day,
      We ever stand on guard.

  1. I hated every official version mandated by the government. The latest change ushered in with make a wish foundation urgency misses subtleties of the english language and leans towards authoritarianism. The idea of government meddling with the lyrics of the anthem for political reasons started with during the first Trudeau’s reign of errors, with the intent to stop Roger Doucet from insterting “Rights and Liberties” into the anthem as things we stand on guard for.

    1. Don’t forget that The Maple Leaf Forever, which had been (former) Canada’s unofficial anthem, is strongly pro-British. PET, feeling the shame and outrage of the Plains of Abraham, more than 200 years after the fact, had to make sure that Calixa Lavallee’s best-known work be made the official one.

  2. I look forward to the votes,in Parliament and the Senate,on this National Emergency,to quell the Bouncy Castle Rebellion.
Does anyone know if the vote will be formally recorded in Hansard?
For I love it when my enemies proudly self identify.
And feel it best to wait until they do so.
    7 days.
    Good days indeed.

  3. Something interesting just occurred to me.

Medically at least Covid just sort of ended and no one noticed.

Politically it is reaching a very dangerous critical mass for reasons I shouldn’t need to explain, but medically it has more or less just wandered off into the woods and no one has bothered to go looking.

Look at your news feeds – there is a lot of political discussion about Castro’s Son and what how much freedom he has pissed on, there is coverage of French protests (seriously, France, just restore the monarchy, again, and be done with it) and maybe some coverage of what the Ostreich are up to.

Everything else? Ukraine. Apparently some sports wank in China. Spy scandals internally in the US. Spy scandals in Australia with an unnamed foreign power being accused of attempting to affect elections. Stuff in Australia about a professional victim playing the sexist card against the Prime Minister with a slice of ‘side eye’. That is what is going down.

Health effects of the dread Fauci Flu? No one cares. Sure people are still catching it. People still go into hospital, apparently, and – with no disrespect intended for the families – people are still dying.

    But is this news worthy?

Seriously no new service thinks Covid results will get them ad dollars anymore.

Medically Covid ended. You just didn’t notice.

Politically? Covid may be the most important moral struggle since the 40s.

    1. Good observation and very true. Though I do wonder if it’ll suddenly be resurrected when it’s politically advantageous to the usual suspects.

    2. Because it has effectively ended, it would have been an easy matter to get rid of the mandates which have not done much anyway. Instead, Trudeau’s heavy handed approach makes it clear that a control agenda is in place. Watch for more oppressive measures– certainly more squelching of free speech and more pressure on unvaxed. Does not really have to tie to reality anymore as people are sufficiently brainwashed. Many won’t resist. My one hope us the truck protests elsewhere. I believe there is a big one underway in the US.

      1. Trudeau’s response was actually very predictable. You just have to look at his basic personality: he is a spoiled brat! All his life, he was indulged and he now fully expects to get his own way all the time. If he cannot get his own way he immediately becomes spiteful and vindictive.

The one word nobody is allowed to say to him is ‘No’. Jody Wilson-Raybould said no – whack!! ditto Jane Philpott, Bill Morneau, Mark Norman. Anybody who says no has to be punished.

        The truckers said ‘No’.

  4. The military hates our new self-appointed deity. Most of the police – with some exceptions – hate our new self-appointed deity.

Our only hope is for the military and police still on our side to intervene. Similar to the ouster of Morsey in Egypt.

    1. I guess in Canada standing up and refusing to back down is not an option as courage is required.

    2. “Most of the police – with some exceptions – hate our new self-appointed deity.”

Well, when the police find the courage to strip off their uniforms & join the truckers & farmers & other freedom seeking people, I’ll believe it. Until then, they’re just stewards of the state.

  5. You need a “Stainless Steel Rat”. Who would trust such a person?
    That’s the problem.

  6. From an outside look I think someone should have looked at Canadian history

Wasn’t transportation what fixed Louis Riel? CPR etc.

If suitable you could email him reminders

  7. Canada is going down and the people are embracing that. There will be no bounce as when the bottom has been hit Canada will no longer be a country.

  8. Blacklock reports that Trudeau’s cabinet tolerated the Indian blockades in 2020, because they were exercising their important democratic rights.

  9. As recently as 2-3 years ago it was illegal to clear brush in California. This dry brush helped to fuel the fires that have ravaged so many communities there. What to do. What to do.

A new study has just come out that shows California is in the worst drought in 1,200 years due to … wait for it … man-made global warming. For this reason, the government is implementing a program of clearing dry brush and controlled burns to reduce the potential of damaging fires. See what they did? They started with a problem they had caused (to not to clear away brush which led to several damaging fires). So they did a study which proves man-made global warming (94% of the damage) was the cause and this justifies their reverse course of action to now clear away the brush, looking like the heroes they are.

My favorite part was the reference to the very low levels in the (man-made) reservoirs as proof of the drought. Now I wasn’t around 1,200 years ago but why do low levels of water below the Hoover Dam have anything to do with man-made global warming?

    1. Excellent. Even a Canadian general strike would be a good step. We must somehow get out from under the monsters that are driving this tyranny– Trudeau, Freeland and all who support them.

  10. Breaking. Statistics Canada is reporting that the aggregate CPI grew by 0.9% in January, much higher than the 0.5% forecast by economists. Year over year, the monthly CPI number translates to a 5.1% increase:

My sister and brother-in-law bought their first common-date gold coin last month. Pundits on BNN-Bloomberg still call tor a fall in the inflation rate. It’s all “transitory” they say.

  11. Trudeau didn’t declare martial law, you lying piece of shit.
If he had, this site would be shut down.

  12. C.M., I take it you are calling Kate a “lying piece of sh##”. Tucker Carlson did in fact say that Trudeau invoked martial law:
    https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/tucker-carlson-how-long-until-canadian-style-tyranny-comes-to-america

Technically, Mr. Carlson is wrong. But it seems to me that the SDA site could be shut down now with the Emergency Act. And under a hypothetical marshall law this web site could conceivably stay up. It depends on the whims of dictatorship in charge, as to either regime.

So C.M., try to avoid being your nasty inner self when posting here, and clean up your language.

    1. The Emergencies Act replaced the “War Measures Act”. It is a form of martial law as it suspends Charter rights.

  13. China news – Did someone post this already?

    https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/the-chinese-bat-virus-that-never-shows-up-in-any-chinese-bats/

Also, my wife was watching men’s Olympic hockey and they noted 6 members of team China came from BC, 3 from Alberta and 3 from Ontario. The CBC commentator noted “They are very proud of their Chinese heritage”. That’s OK, but are they proud to be playing for a powerful, (alleged) organ harvesting, and dangerous dictator?

  14. WE NEED PAYBACK!
As those LIBERALS FLEE IN DROVES away from anything Trudeau…
We need to list them as sponsors to Trudeau.
They certainly sucked off the government trough and the government trough is dry!

  15. SPIRIT SINISTER: Well; be it so. My argument is that War makes rattling good history; but Peace is poor reading. So I back Bonaparte Justin for the reason that he will give pleasure to posterity.
