    1. “Spectacular falsehoods”, “a flood of erroneous Covid-speak”, “misinformation”.

      Why is it so damn difficult for some people to simply say, “The bastards lied to us!”?

    2. The public officials, intellectuals, business leaders, and journalists who came to stridently believe so many falsehoods also happen to be the ones driving the war on misinformation. And their inability to grapple with complexity and trade-offs in sprawling systems goes well beyond Covid-19. This combination of midwitgullibility and censorious arrogance has been building for years. It breeds hubris and leads to “knowledge falsification” in multiple realms.

      I agree with Dumb Biker. These people don’t believe “so many falsehoods”, and they are not unable “to grapple with complexity”.

      They knew exactly what they were doing. They lied.

      They lied because there is an unbelievable amount of money to be made in doing so. And they have made it.

      Think Carl Sagan’s “billions and billions”.

    3. I saw the SOC comment the day she made it. Stunning ignorance. Hard to believe someone in that position would tell such an easily verified mistruth. Then there is Mr. Trudeau telling deliberate lies, repeatedly, even after being fact checked. As for Covid mistruths and censoring, Canadian and US citizens need to start a class action lawsuit against our Governments, The Communist Party of China, media (including social), college of Physicians etc. for hiding the truth, failing to detect, treat and prevent (vaccines, therapeutics and other remedies) Covid 19 and it’s variants. Failure to protect the most vulnerable, force businesses to close, landlords to not evict. Trample all over human rights and grant themselves extraordinary powers above and beyond the scope of the pandemic. And whatever else we can think of. If I lost a Grandma because Union Leaders kicked up a fuss about health care workers spreading the virus from facility to facility, I’d be suing them too.

  3. This thing has been going on for days and funny how the only one catching covid is Trudeau. Maybe Honks keep the virus away. Or conga lines.

  8. We’ve been denied facts for two years, the medical establishment dropped the ball and decided to let politicians decide treatment protocols for patients. I’d like to see some serious consequences for doctors and politicians who colluded to take our right to informed medical care away from us and replace it with government approved non-care via experimental vaccines.

    What would be the vote in Parliament if theTurd asks this afternoon in some emergency session if he can use force to clear downtown Ottawa? Libranos + NDP would be of course Yes. Half of Conservatives, we know they are CINOs, they would vote Yes as well.

  13. Regarding your open question about the Ottawa cops twitter account, Robert —

    Trudeau has effectively stated that the Canadian Army will not be used.
    The optics won’t fly.
    The first comments from the Ottawa Police Chief that I saw seemed to express surprise that the convoy and its participants were behaving so well.
    What’s changed is that the Ottawa Police have been morphed into the Federal army. Full body armour, helmets, automatic weapons, the lot. Swat teams brought in from the RCMP and the OPP. Infiltration into the protesters groups. Active surveillance into the backgrounds of the protest leadership and identification of any one who is a member. Hard enforcement of the smallest of transgressions.
    But the badging on the uniforms will still say “police” and not “army”.

  14. I strongly suspect that the Canadian Army was consulted about being used to clear the truckers and that the Army Brass told Trudeau where to go.

  15. Trudeau needs some kind of violence to justify the army. He’s in a quandary because though ordinary hardworking Canadians have a reason to be angry for the loss of life and livelihood, they just are not taking the bait.

    Trudeau wants to, but he can’t, at least not yet
