Forty-eight hours this protest has been going on in Ottawa, and so far no broken windows or looted stores, even though the Rideau Center is just kitty-corner from Parliament Hill, and it went through a gentrifying effort a few years ago, so the shops are fancier than they used to be. Nope, no criminality. Not even any fires set, and believe me, it’s cold enough that I wouldn’t blame them for igniting a building or two to keep warm.

   Meanwhile, Justin Chickenshit has scurried off to who-knows-where, with his wife and kids clinging to the back of his jacket, like one of those “refugee crossing” signs they have in the desert on the U.S.-Mexico border. Remember when an actual murderer with a gun went rampaging through the Center Block, and Stephen Harper was grabbed by his security people and shoved into the nearest secure space (some said a closet) before being evacuated from the building? Oh, the hooting and snorts of derision from the Liberals! Such manly men THEY were – none of them faced down the killer themselves, but they just KNEW they wouldn’t be askeered like that dumpy old Conservative! Trudeau even sold himself as some sort of hairy-chested man of action, if you remember his staged “boxing match” back in 2012. But when someone less deferential than the CBC shows up, he turns as white as his underwear and flees.
