Took a drive down to the Emerson, Manitoba border crossing today. Can’t say for sure how long the lines were but they were long. Real long. Both Directions. They were also incredibly slow and would regularly stop before starting again at a crawl.

Things look well organized with lots of people helping out and giving support. Porta potties, food, etc. If they want, they’ll be able to keep this up a long time.

For a lot of them its not business anymore its personal. They’ve all got stories about loved ones who have gone through hell the last couple of years. Anyone who thinks this is just about the trucking mandates is delusional. It’s about ALL mandates.

Multiply what I saw across a number of other major border crossings and all I can say is that things are going to get really interesting this week. Ottawa is the showcase but the real muscle is at the borders.

  1. Wow! Elon has been surprising the bloody hell out of me. What an unwoke statement by the worlds #1 purveyor of wokemobiles. I wonder what his Tesla customers think of his statement? I assume 98% of his Tesla customers HATE what Elon just said. Maybe he is a genius?

      I think this will start pulling the conservative party apart. I see lots of comments for one MP or another to be the new leader. I wouldn’t be surprised if those types of comments are seeded by “well meaning” individuals.

        I am a huge Musk / SpaceX fan. What he has accomplished in a couple of decades is extraordinary. I firmly believe if he gets a couple more decades of similar quality he will get us to Mars.

        As to Tesla, I wish he would sell it and focus on space. I wouldn’t buy a Tesla if it was the last car on the lot. But then, I don’t begrudge him selling crap to fools and money wise it has certainly worked out for him.

        As to his politics. He gave up on California and has essentially moved to Texas. Witness his recent interview with Babylon Bee where he derides wokeism in all its forms.

        He ain’t perfect by a long, long shot. Billionaire geniuses tend not to be. But at least he is doing something for humanity unlike shitheels like Bezos and Branson.

        I’m guessing they are frustrated wanting to be apart of the Freedom rally and don’t have plans to drive to Ottawa for whatever reason. They should find a different outlet.

            Of course, my preference is Wildrose but they don’t have a full slate of candidates & they don’t seem to be making much political hay out of Kenney’s follies. They shouldn’t be missing the opportunity. They also seem to be lacking in organizational skills.

    3. I made a run down to Coutts today from Lethbridge along Hiway 4. The miles-long southbound line up shown in the WS link from yesterday on had all but disappeared. There were a few trucks past the weigh scale but I’d guess about a mile of traffic at worst. I didn’t go into town to see if the border was actually totally blocked or not.

      There were lots of cars, pickups, tractor/trailers, fifth wheel campers parked around the scales, both in the ditch & on the road shoulders, north- & southbound, all bearing Canadian, Alberta or Fuck Trudeau flags. A couple of the flat decks had big signs on them. Two that I recall read, “Don’t take Trudeau to the Train Station, Take Him To A Truck Stop” and “We’re the 99%”. People walking around with big smiles on their faces, talking, visiting. One couple carrying a couple boxes of donuts across the road. It was all very peaceful & civil.

      On the way to Coutts I met 4 northbound tractor/trailers: 3 reefers & a flatbed. In Milk River, 11 miles north of Coutts, there is a small gas station/truck stop. There were ~40 units parked on & around the immediate area. About 16 miles north of that is a rest area. There were 3 units on the southbound side and 4 on the northbound side. I passed two pickups bearing Canadian & Alberta flags on the trip south. Honked & waved at them.

      On the way home I met probably a dozen more southbound pickups with flags. Also met two tractor/trailer units. Overall, I would say traffic was down significantly both directions, even accounting for it being a Sunday.

      Queen’s Horsemen all over the place. They had Hiway 4 southbound blocked off at Hiway 501 West with 5 vehicles. They were stopping all traffic. Asked me if I was part of the protest. I replied that I supported the protest & wanted to see what was going on. Asked the officer why. He said they were screening traffic & only letting supporters go through. I smiled & replied, keeping the shit disturbers out? He nodded in affirmation. Every intersection along Hiway 4 with a gravel back road from there to the border had two or 3 RCMP units there. I’m guessing upwards of two dozen cars & trucks.

    I can see violence being unleashed on Canadians at the Cpaital and at the borders by an ever desperate Turdhole Government with the support of all other globalist politicians.
    I don’t see these fascist Globalist returning freedoms without a fight. The Turdhole Party will never surrender IMO, in fact they will probably escalate the divisions and double down on the Government terrorism.

    The joy and hope Canadians are experiencing during this revolution is heartwarming and inspirering for the whole world, a world at war, but the enemies of Canada have not yet been defeated and those same enemies are as malevolent and sinister as any psychopath can get. Don’t underestimate the clampdown thats coming nor the hatred our political class have for Canada and Canadians.

    I have a bad feeling that the Turdhole Party are going to start murdering Canadians in the streets, not from the death shot, but by the end of a rifle.

Hence, praying for divine intervention seems like a really good strategy right now!

But if a sufficient number of Canadians stick together, support and protect the truckers, then the elites will lose.

    If goods coming into the urban areas come to a crawl then it’ll only be a matter of days before demands for the resignations of Trudeau, Singh AND O’Toole begin. Their immediate replacements will likely just be new puppets but if people stand firm that enough is enough and they demand representatives that are accountable, then things will change.

    Not saying I’m blindly optimistic but this is a pivotal, perhaps once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for such a change!

  12. I have a very bad feeling this will not end well. As others have said, Trudeau and his party minions and sycophants in the media will not change, will not choose a conciliatory path. His M.O. since day 1 has been sowing division and the divisions now are like the Grand Canyon. I don’t see how it ends well, but maybe this is the start of a process that will lead somewhere better. I just don’t see how. Whatever happens, this protest was necessary. Canada was sleepwalking into a totalitarian state, the demonstration project for technocratic globalism. The world is watching, for now.

    Do we really have LEOs and CF personnel that will obey those orders? We’ve seen some sketchy stuff from the horsemen, especially in Nova Scotia, and the Toronto cops going to Port Perry and basically executing a local gunsmith, but really?

    An Oka or Caledonia outcome maybe? Probably not, the protesters have the wrong ancestry.

      If they persist, more and more public opinion will be against them and progressive brainwashed types will demand action! When they get irritated to this point…like Wednesday…Trudeau will be only too happy to be the knight in shining armor and send in the cops.

      The cops will slowly and methodically (in a de-escalating manner) begin fining the hell out of the truckers and arresting them one by one if they resist orders. This will have the effect not of sympathy by the progressive majority in Canada, but of just desserts. The truckers will think they are making a heroic martyr-style display, but the media will turn it into a humiliation.

      Canadians will get the message that nothing can be done, and if you resist you’ll be made an example of.

      Then things will get really frightening, because the most hardcore of participants are going to be shell shocked by their humiliation at the hands of the state and the general attitude of smirking mockery by the media and the general population. They will also realize that they are completely disenfranchised with no way to participate in the system.

      They should just leave. I hope they do.

        This could be a dangerous game of chicken. Who will blink first? Regardless of what you feel towards the truckers, and my heart goes out to them, there can be no doubt that they are the underdogs.

        Whatever happens, we must stand together and support them, no matter what they decide to do, because they are not only fighting for themselves, they are fighting for all Canadians, even those who believe the truckers are out of line.

  14. The political analysis looks something like this, I feel …

    About 15% of the population are strongly anti-mandate. This would include all of the support base for the PPC, what’s left of the libertarian movement aside from that, and some but not all big-C conservatives.

    About 25% are strongly pro-mandate. This would include active party members of the mainstream parties, the left broadly defined, and most professionals if they are not already in by virtue of their leftism.

    That leaves 60% who are on the fence, not much in favour of the mandates but still clinging to the hope that the vaccines and the mandates will “work.”

    Now those three groups take the field under the cloud of uncertainty as to what COVID actually is. My belief is that COVID is a multi-faceted set of viruses that range from straight-up biological warfare agents, to the common cold or something like it. Almost anyone could catch some variant of it. Then anyone who goes to hospital for any reason could be categorized as a “COVID patient” and if they die, as a COVID death. This may be partly manipulated, and used as a pretext to make war on the small business community and the libertarian lifestyle that might lead a person to doubt or ignore political correctness (thus weakening the power of the globalist state).

    So now we have a confrontation between the 15% and the 25% while the 60% look on, largely unaware of what the possible meaning or consequences might be. The 15% almost certainly cannot take the power away from the 25% unless the 60% join them; if a large part of the 60% join them, then the 25% will become fearful for their lives and disappear. Stooges will be left holding the bag and a new election would sweep in a PPC majority government. Bernier would probably wisely call for calm and a general amnesty, the mandates would end, the elites would creep back out into the sunlight, and keep their mouths shut (a difficult challenge for them as we know).

    Now comes the part where I wake up and tell you what will really happen. The 25% will tell some lies, invent some provocations, stall for time, and wait until it blows over. The provincial premiers observing all this will conclude that their own future probably depends on accelerating the end game. The globalists in the background will regroup at that point, count their wins and plot a new round, perhaps entirely unrelated to all this.

    Not much will change and this pantomime will continue, indefinitely, until there’s nobody left with a functioning brain and the human race becomes an ant colony. At that point, the puzzling delay of the end time will cease, Jesus will return with the saints who died and had functioning brains. They will turn the then-extant human race into an amusement park.

    Yes, a lot can go wrong, more than I can probably imagine, but will also likely not be what I imagine. A lot can go right, if we seize the opportunity. Four months ago I was disappointed at the Canadian election results. Now I see there is a possibility Canada can take a turn for the better. It’s going to take work. Paradoxically it’s going to take opposition to strengthen our resolve and to show Canadians what the choices are … they’re going to be looking for strong (not wussy tyranical) leadership.

    If the Cops get involved in cranking up the extortion on the truckers,they can just declare victory and go home,then put their feet up for 3 weeks of Rest and relaxation.

    The Armed forces have no hope of taking over freight delivery and with their current generalship would be a source of deep comedy if they tried.

  26. Ive been to 3 local protest and donated twice so I’m very aware of whats happening.
    From my perspective the truckers hold all the cards and will succeed IF they play them right.
    Just look at what happened across the country yesterday and today.Lots of BIG protests and border blocking. So the whole movement is growing.
    Should trudeau/castro ignore the truckers or thery reach an ompass they could put out a call to ALL truckers in the country for some action.Maybe block the borders or a short complete shutdown of all trucking.
    The media is attacking relentlessly but I feel the vast majority of the trucking community is behind this 100%

    I watched the press conference today and was impressed by the leaders. They appear to be very salvy as Robert stated.

    Also this has created tremendous impetus all over the world and in countries that the population is a lot more militant than here.

  27. The pseudo-government has no real support. Those criticizing the truckers are cowards preening their moral virtue. There are the few at the top that could be in real trouble, but won’t realize it until it’s too late. These imperious tyrants will overextend their decrees only to find nobody, including the police, is paying attention.
    If Convoy supporters are happy to brave -30 for hours on the roadside, they’re not turning back. All that’s needed is for the truckers to continue smiling and not support violence. Violence and sponsored media are the only cards the government holds.

    In Trudeau’s Canada I guess they would be “moistly peaceful” if we did the same?
