January 31, 2022: Reader Tips

Up until two hours before midnight ET, something else was going to be presented here but thanks to SDA commenter, Maikeru, we’re preempting that with a wonderful scene from the 1968 film, The Devils Brigade: The Canadians Arrive  We can all look forward to a future movie showing the 2022 Canadians Arriving … in Ottawa!

In addition to this video, you’re likely to get some good laughs visiting Jack Posobiec’s Twitter feed.  He has affectionately renamed Canada as “Truckistan” and appointed himself as the American Ambassador to it.  Check out some highlights here, here, here, here, and here.

You can also watch the first press conference given by the Convoy organizers. The entire thing is well worth watching. These folks are VERY media and politically savvy. They understand what’s going on. We applaud them for not getting sucked in by the legacy media.  We applaud them for not apologizing for peacefully fighting for the freedom of ALL Canadians. Nor will they allow themselves to affiliate with any particular political party or politician. Though they are looking to talk to the Conservative Party Leader, but insist that it is clearly not Erin O’Toole. Bravo!

There’s also a rumour going around that the authorities are going to sneak in at 3am with giant tow-trucks and remove all of them.  Even if they were somehow able to do that, it’s not going to solve the problem.  The trucks and the protesters aren’t leaving the Ottawa Capital Region anytime soon.  Expect to see the same in major cities across the country.  With roads blocked and few truckers available regardless, how do these “geniuses” inside the government think that food and other essential supplies are going to get onto store shelves?!?

It’s going to be an interesting and incredibly historic week ahead.  Thank you ALL for your incredible contributions to SDA of your wisdom and your links!

Final note: The Freedom Convoy 2022 GoFundMe campaign just crossed over $9 Million around 10pm ET.

    1. Hi BA,
The FreedomConvoy2022 news conference linked by Robert above is so inspiring, I recommend that as what everyone should watch tonight.
Watch that and see if you can scroll past their gofundme link.
      Thanks SDAers!

      1. ^ +1 they did great. Listen to every word of it.

  1. Out of curiosity I took a look at the replies to one of Justin Trudeau’s recent tweets: https://twitter.com/JustinTrudeau/status/1487111272931942403

It’s one thing to get “ratioed”, meaning that the negative comments are greater than the positive ones but these responses demand a much stronger word like “massacred”. Will he do anything now to stay in power? Given that his [alleged] father enacted the War Measures Act, I wouldn’t put it past this little tyrant.

        1. It can happen, but things are getting out of hand for Libranos and any heavy handed measures are likely to backfire with even more opposition. Truckers are doing it right. They have an excellent public image and protests are gaining momentum. A bad time for a crackdown. Especially that they would need bipartisan support for the Act. Everyone who would oppose them would gain. Also, he would need to run it by provinces. Ford is too smart to fall for it.

I think a more likely outcome now is a palace coup with Red Dwarf seizing power and attempting to make nice with truckers. It will cost Libranos less.

          1. “Nice” and Freeland is an oxymoron.
Every time I see or hear her I think of Elvira Gultch replete with a host of flying monkeys from the CBC studio.
“You and your little dog too”

    1. If the Son King is really in hiding somewhere, and “isolated”, then that means that the Party grandees and caucus members can start plotting against him in earnest. They’re not in isolation. Once the whisper campaign against him starts, Jagmeet can leverage Junior’s weakness in return for the NDP’s continued support. And if the polls show the NDP support is growing at Liberal expense, Jagmeet might withdraw support altogether to force an election. The Liberals could anticipate by replacing Trudeau sooner rather than later. From several perspectives, Trudeau looks weak. As I read on here earlier today, all he needs is a lifeline thrown to him from some international agency offering him a “face saving” and cushy sinecure out of the country. But does Junior have any real friends anywhere? His only loyalty has been to himself. He is isolated in more ways than just physically.

      1. The isolation story is just that.
It’s the message the media got from the PMO and instead of verifying it repeated.
He’s just not at the cottage, which by the way he never should have been there in the first place.
        But I digress.
It makes it easier to slip away on vacay without having to report his whereabouts, to places like Tofino.
An inquisitive media would have broke a story an hour or less after the PMO claimed he was isolating.

    2. This fuckstick is too stupid be a “tyrant” he’s a useless piece of shit, end of tale.

  2. Just park the trucks in a pattern that would be almost impossible to remove them. Then stand around them.

  3. Re. Movie ”The Devil’s Brigade. ”

I was raised in SW Sask. near the Canada-USA border. I was told by many WWII vets from that area that the movie did NOT at all depict the reality of the friendship and camaraderie that existed within the joint venture between the two countries. The camp was near Helena Montana, and and there were few if any fist fights or altercations between the two armies.

It was however a good movie.

  4. I’ve watched that clip from The Devil’s Brigade many times and it’s great imagery. It was filmed in Utah with a pipe band from Salt Lake City and a cast almost entirely of Yanks and Brits impersonating Canadians. Oh well, hopefully the costume department at least got the uniforms right and couldn’t they find a more imaginative name than Crown for the co?

    1. Looks like they were led by a reasonable facsimile of infantry troops of the Calgary Highlanders, the closest Canadian regiment to Helena, Montana. One thing – my father started the war with the Calgary Highlanders – no kilts in WWII – they did have Glengarries.. The band and pre-war reserve officers were likely the only ones with kilts. He later went on to liberate Europe with the South Saskatchewan Regiment.

    1. Look at the tweet picture. Look up the ages of his kids. I hate it when out side believes lies that can be disproven in 2 minutes.

      1. Those are just stock images. The top one is from his trip to India. The age of the images has nothing to do with the story.

    1. As someone who watched most of the First Ministers conferences when they were broadcast live back in the day, I’ve been wondering where Peckford has been for the past 40 years as the feds and the SC have contorted that most malleable of constitutional documents into whatever shape they’ve wanted.

But good on him for this.

At least we know that if the government wants to forcibly inject you with a medical experiment and effectively confine you within the borders of the country, in Peckford’s eyes it has finally crossed a line. Phew! Here I’ve been thinking it was just my imagination.

The trouble is the SC has never given a damn to date about the stated intentions of the first ministers, particularly as they “read in” rights that were never there in the first place, and evacuate those that are.

  5. It is hard to keep up with your posts, so I hope you will not mind a somewhat off-topic post.

Today the bought-and-paid-for presstitutes were all in a tizzy about defacing the Terry Fox memorial with our national flag, labelling this a desecration. Perhaps some here will be interested in this image -no its not the Ottawa memorial, but that does not matter-, please read the message on the lollipop shaped doodad in the mans hand.

    1. Ha! So funny. These things are great.

I remember Joe Clark’s brief ministry in ’79. Even in his home province of Alberta, the Joe Clark Is Stupid jokes were being heard everywhere. I thought at the time the constant ridicule over losing his luggage on international trips and going in the wrong door in the government caucus rooms etc., etc. was the undoing of his government. That and the fact that it was Joe Clark’s government.

But this mockery of Junior far exceeds that of Joe Clark. It’s a beautiful thing. Who’d have thought that Trudeau would morph into a national laughingstock like Joe Who. (We always laughed at the Clown Prince, of course, but we here are not the whole nation, alas).

The Party will start asking the question whether it’s in their interest to bet on this shiny pony one more time.

  6. Liars, the lot of ’em.

Doctor who discovered Omicron: ‘I was ordered to label this variant serious’

    https://freewestmedia.com/2022/01/24/doctor-who-discovered-omicron-i-was-ordered-to-label-this-variant-serious/

[Coetzee] also revealed that she was being threatened by “scientists”, among others, who had ordered her not to disclose that the new variant only caused mild complaints. They told her to adapt her story: “I then said that Omicron is a harmless disease in South Africa and a very serious disease in Europe because I had to tell European politicians that,” said Coetzee.

    1. The narrative started coming apart 18+ months ago, but now even the main players have totally lost the plot. This was a government control/financial redistribution con job from the get-go. At this point, if you’re not cottoning on, you’re one of the 4% of CBC’s faithful viewers.

  7. Someone shedding “brownie points”?

“Premier Jason Kenney of Alberta Canada Complains Truckers Are Locking Down Government
    January 30, 2022 | Sundance | 265 Comments
A cross-border trucker unity rally in Alberta Canada, a show of support for their brothers in Ottawa, has triggered the ire of Alberta Premier Jason Kenney.”

    https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/01/30/premier-jason-kenney-of-alberta-canada-complains-truckers-are-locking-down-government/

    1. Kenney told CTV that we were breaking the law down in Coutts. After TurdHole the next convoy needs to go to Edmonton.

  8. Ok watched about 3/4 of that excellent press conference, and need to get to sleep but wanted to say how impressed I was with all of them but especially Tamara. It was excellent for her to say that they feel like they have already won, just from the stories and support they have had along the way. This is something very important to stick with because I doubt the Government will budge. I also liked what she had to say about indigenous women and families. A deep subject for another night.

    1. Agreed! They understand the tactics of the enemies of freedom, the enemies of the Canadian people, namely the media and the politicians funded by the Laurentian Elites. So they have deliberately taken steps to combat against them – legally and peacefully – but against them nonetheless.

  9. I feel I should point out that the operators of those big towing rigs are truckers, too. If ordered to haul away the protest rigs, they just might have a plague of inexplicable breakdowns.

    1. Or they suddenly report their vaccination status isn’t up to the government requirement.

      This is the magic bullet.
If the government won’t let things go back to normal, then the government gets service denials.

  10. It’s a bit disappointing to see them using GoFundMe.

Based on previous incidents, I fully expect the site to backstab them at the last minute.

  11. Rhetorical question.
If the police intend to have these trucks towed away, who pray tell are they going to get to drive those tow trucks?

Kharma would the moment when all calls for service is greater with

“Normally yes we do respond to calls from the police, but none of our drivers have been vaccinated and are isolating”

  12. Accidently channel-surfed onto the CTV national news show, at 2 am, and they had a piece by reporter Glen McGregor. All he did was to slag the truckers’ demonstration, from beginning to end of his piece.

  13. The boycott list of Spotify continues to grow. Niels Lofgren has added his name.

The BIG names are chiming in. Harry and Meghan have added their names in support of Young Mitchell etc.

Spotify lost 2 billion in value following the departure of Neil Young.

All this has got the attention of Spotify and they are now going to supply ‘warnings’ to their Covid content.

Joe Rogan now has had to address his position and has vowed to, “try harder.”

Stay tuned folks. The wokesters have decided Spotify needs it’s own truckers rally.

    1. Correction: To clarify

Spotify was in decline well before Neil Young was punted. After he left the stock slipped another 8%. He wasn’t responsible for the full drop.

  14. I had an opportunity to share lunch with the surviving Devils Brigaders a few years back. One was 92 and had just remarried.. Incredibly bright not a hint of a lost memory. I have video of the event if wants to see it I’ll post on Youtube and send a link.
But comment if interested…. I dont want to dig around to find it if no one is.

  15. I can’t get the convoy organizers press conference vid to load at that link, it just spins. Either it’s wildly popular or more likely some Twitter shenanigans to prevent people from seeing it.

Is there another source anyone knows about?

  16. Justin is giving his own press conference from his secure location, virtually, at 11:15 today.

Naturally, he refuses to show up to Question Period on time, sober, and ready to explain himself.

There are only three questions worth asking at Question Period:

Will the Prime Minister confirm where he is?

If the Prime Minister is convinced that nobody could have guaranteed his safety if he had tried to turn up in person today, can he honestly say that he still believes he has the confidence of the Canadian people?

If not, can he explain why he should retain the confidence of Parliament?

    1. I think it is time for the Liberal party to step up to the plate and dump him. They need to soften Covid policies and provide leadership that can bring people together. Trudeau has to go. His demonizing ordinary Canadians has been very destructive.

    1. Convenient.

Another excuse to not show up in the HoC.

He is going to get pummeled in the House and he knows it. Canadians are suffering from Covid19 fatigue and are ready for some hard accountability questions.

  17. While Prinz Dummkopf’s in hiding–um, er, “self-isolating”–do you think he’s having a discussion similar to this with him as Howard Beale:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35DSdw7dHjs

By the way, those few minutes must be one of Ned Beatty’s best performances. He was perfect for that part.

    1. That would be great. I do think this is a unique moment, and premier’s should not let it slip away. Moe has lead the way. Time for other premiers to drop mandate requirements and divisive Covid policies. If it does not happen, I think those who could act and did not will forever regret it.
