As soon as the cross border vaxx mandate was announced, various governments and organizations sought to promote the idea that the negative effect on supply chains would be minimal or even non-existent.
It’s revealing that even the taxpayer funded MSM seems to be waking up to this reality. It seems that some trucking firms are not singing from the same song sheet as the Canadian Trucking Association. Instead, they are more focused on their balance sheet, and that’s not looking too rosy.
Semi-trailers owned by a Manitoba-based trucking company are sitting idle on Saturday as about 10 per cent of the workforce is unable to cross the border due to new vaccine requirements.
That means nearly 10 per cent of the drivers who work at Bison Transport out of Winnipeg are not able to do their jobs.
“This has added substantial costs to our operation, as we have idle trucks and trailers that still need to be paid for,” said president and CEO Rob Penner in an email to CBC News.

“Masters of the Obvious” is completely inaccessible to some; and we generally vote for them.
The same Corpse typists who cry crocodile tears over the lack of truckers are the same ones who go berserk if they can’t find fresh organic produce in January.
Naturally, they expect truckers to be satisfied if their wives are able to feed the children with store-brand mac and cheese dinner from the local food bank.
They count on Canadians who work for a living, believe in God and know how rough things can be to be generous towards their neighbours. Their own money is for the RRSP.
Best thing the truckers could do, is park on all Ottawa streets, bumper to bumper, and camp out for a week. Just hangout like good ol boys, and that’s it. And, at that time, if Trudles still doesn’t get it, go home, park, and kick back.
Then we will see supply chain issues. And stay home. Unfortunately, its their neighbours that would pay in the short term, not sure we can count on the eastern trucker buddies to sit down and starve out Cherranna, Monreeyal and Ottawa.
Is it worse for Canada? The US has lots of destinations inside our borders for unvaccinated drivers to drive to.
I still do not understand why a person that spends most of his time isolated in a truck cab is a danger to anyone, even if he crosses a border. This is NOT February 2020, where the Chinese COVID Virus is infecting people in a few isolated areas only. Coronavirus is endemic / widespread across the globe in 2022.
This is just another one of so many stupid, nonsensical, and destructive policies put forth by Stupid, Venal, and Power Hungry
morons.
It’s not about the virus. We all know that and the truckers are giving people the feeling that others agree with their once hidden beliefs. Make no mistake the polls proclaiming wide support for tyranny are 100% fake just like the newsmen who proclaim it.
I think you meant the shorter version “why a person that spends most of his time isolated is a danger to anyone”. Yep. I’m getting to the point that whenever I get infected again, I will be touring the grocery stores and the pharmacies. Joy to the world.
The whole thing is a fraud. If the covid rate is roughly the same on both sides of the border, stopping people from crossing the border does nothing to change the rate of spread. This is nothing more than trying to force people to obey.
“If the covid rate is roughly the same on both sides of the border, stopping people from crossing the border does nothing to change the rate of spread.”
This.
Problem is the new aristocracy counts the decline as a win. Their profits come from undisclosed sources.
If you cannot determine the motivation, look at the outcome.
Had to look it up as I was sure I heard it from Jordan Peterson:
“If you cannot understand why someone did something, look at the consequences—and infer the motivation.”

Cui bono?

Old legal maxim from ancient Rome. “Brevity is the soul of wit.”
I can confirm what Bison says, I’ve used them to move truckload quantities of product
Last quote I got on the same lane last week 80% increase
As he says, bills to pay
The simple and uninformed think that if 90% of drivers are vaccinated (a bs stat I suspect) than 90% of the freight will be moved. The supply chain is inter-connected; a finely tuned machine. Side-lining 10% plus of a maxed-out workforce in the middle of a chronic driver shortage because they won’t get vaccinated with a vaccine that doesn’t work against a disease that has mutated and moved on, is lunacy.
It will cause larger problems than most realize.

Paul Brandt just sent his support on the Zello channel and did a rendition of the Convoy intro… Was awesome!
The lack of drivers garbage is not true. Many people have CDL, they refuse to drive for slave wages on unsafe and poorly maintained roads. Without basic services such as safe and secure parking areas, proper rest areas so a person can use basic toilet services. To be treated with basic courtesy by government officials, receivers and shippers as well as their employers. In short to be treated as human beings, not garbage to be replaced by someone else willing to accept 2 cents less per mile on a pick up or drop.
Also the absolutely terrible number of deaths and accidents caused by new drivers due to a complete lack of so called training is a stain on the reputations of all the companies and governments involved in this industry.
Until this is fixed or at least started on, driving will be seen as a very unattractive career for all but the most desperate compared to say Mcdonalds etc.
Btw they raised $800,000 today and are up to 5.8 million. That’s some “small minority” there trudope.
The total at 9PM PST is 5.9 million. And that is ONLY gofundme. There are other avenues of donations like e-transfer.
The amount has been going up almost a million a day since Sunday.
My southbound rates are skyrocketing. I just nabbed a 3k USD load going a little over 1000 miles. ITS FRIGGIN LUMBER.
Mother gaia will have her way
Considering the price of lumber today you might as well be hauling gold. Keep an eye out for lumber bandits.
