  1. Fastest I’ve ever gone is 160 mph. And it seemed a helluva lot faster than 140, which seemed a lot faster than 120.

    Cant imagine this.

    1. Drove 160 km/hr from Viena to Frankfurt am Main.
      Volkswagen Golf.
Chased and tried as much as it would go, pass an American officer in an American car.
Was on his tail for the whole time, could not pass him.

    2. TBH … I have had my fine Bavarian convertible at 120mph quite routinely … and it’s really not all that frightening or exciting enough to specifically ask Christ’s blessing for my fun and safety … but OVER 250 mph!!??? Yeah … I’d be invoking Jesus Christ continuously from about 150 mph onward. And no … my little automobile is not capable of that feat.

Yes Kate … about the time that Bugatti shows up in my rear view … I’d have already lost sight of him in front of me. Je-suz!!

    3. Have been up to 260 Km/h on my FJR 1300, could have easily pushed more but flashing thoughts of something jumping out across the road backed me off……….

    4. 152 mph, in a 65 chev Impala. 327 pushing about 400 hp. It could have done more but…..

  2. The German test-track (Nürburgring), sure. The Autobahn? I’ve been on portions of those roads, and I’d be damned if I’d actually drive at those speeds. Yeah, the Autobahn’s better than our highways (the parts that I saw, anyways), but you hit a freakin’ pebble at 400+ kph and you’re in trouble. A stray dog? You’re in orbit, or in so many pieces they’d have to use a firehose to wash what was left of you off of the roadway and into the ditch.

“More money than brains” doesn’t even begin to cover my thoughts on this stunt.

    1. Agree completely. At those speeds tires evaporate in minutes just by regular wear, you need a professional crew to monitor every aspect of your car’s performance in real time and you do it on track. Autobahn is nice but you’d typically pass everyone if you’re doing 250kph on the left lane. Imagine doing that an being rear-ended by a car going 160kmh faster than you. 1. I didn’t play FH3, in 4 and 5 I found many cars more fun than Bugs. Vulcan and Senna are two of my favorites. Vulcan is my top S2 and Senna is maxed to X.

          1. I started at the beginning only a few months ago, I’m on FH2 now. Thinking about going to FH4 for the online multiplayer though, the FH1-3 servers are offline. XBox Live nick is the same as my alias here, btw…

          2. Life nick: Dr Derp,
            license plate: LGBRNDN
Playin just FH5 these days but only occasionally.

      1. thee colon drags out his BULLSCHIFF agin. Speed has nothing to do with it. Heat is the factor that matters. And Union Carbide produces rubber products the can withstand 600 degrees F , at their NJ Hackinsac plant, I’v used those products. Now learn to STFU, when ignorant of fact. Also most tire companies produce tires for race cars, so they know what they are doing, agin STFU!

        1. At close to max speed Veron’s tires are expected to last about 15 minutes. He is going much faster than race cars, again just stop trying to contribute… anything … ever… you’re not good at it.

    2. I don’t think I could drive at those speeds, even on a road fit for it and not speed limited. Once, back in the ’80s I didn’t resist the temptation of the Autobahn on a MotoGuzzi LeMans MkII. At wide open throttle it showed 120mph on the instrument, but you can’t be sure that’s accurate. And somebody did come up behind me and signal “Get out of my way, slowpoke.” Our youth wouldn’t be as much fun if we already knew better.

^ Words of wisdom. I feel sorry for today’s kids.

The fastest on the road I drove was in a C5 Corvette (at an undisclosed location) and that was about 220 kph. I still felt comfortable and in control, but when you’re going that fast, you do realize that tiniest mistake is the last one. Perhaps when you do it more often, you get used to that feeling, but the first few times the sensation is unnerving even in a well put together, stable, controllable car. On a track OTOH…

    3. Some sections of the Autobahn are very good, but no better than the 407. A lot of it that I have driven on is more like old sections of the QEW.

The lanes are narrower than the 400 series highways, curves are tighter and in many places there is no left shoulder. The road surface is quite bad in places due to the heavy volume of traffic.
Remember the Autobahn was started by Hitler in the ’30s, similar vintage to the original QEW.

    4. The way Nurburgring is designed, the Bugatti would be unlikely to hit over 400 kph. The track record for highest speed is just over 400 kph. Nurburgring is mostly about lap time on a twisting, winding track with a 1,000 feet of elevation changes.

This “stunt” wasn’t done on some random stretch of roadway. this stretch of highway is relatively straight and flat and long enough to reach top speed. Every attempt this guy ever made was on a very particular stretch of road and there are reasons why there are years between attempts. This was done in a professional manner and they left very little to chance. For you and I it might be crazy but this team knew what they were doing.

  3. If you got the money why not.
Me, I prefer something with wings.
    You only live once.
Ask Meat Loaf and Louie Anderson RIP.

  4. I got as far as the prayer. I have nothing against prayer myself – I was worried that stupidity might be contagious. Good Lord.

    1. Lane discipline in Germany is absolute, the penalties for passing on the right, or not moving over, are extreme.

The fastest I have driven on the Autobahn is 200 km/hr, which was really pushing it in my Opel rental car. Nothing passed me at that speed.

      1. Heh, reminds me of driving the Autobahn in my rental, 140 Km/h “going with the flow” was plenty fine with lots of Mercedes blowing by in the left lane. Only passed one overloaded mini van and a farm tractor (what?) during the 150km trip.

      2. In the late 80’s early 90’s I drove the Autobahn regularly at speeds of 230-240 kph on my Kawasaki GPZ 750 turbo. As the years went by driving that fast lost its excitement and I rather went with the flow. With the consistent driver education fellow motorists had been predictable. Recently work colleges had been surprised to learn that at least in the 90’s the minimum speed for vehicles permitted to use the Autobahn was 62 kph.

  5. As an former very amateur motorcycle racer, I envy the guy. If I had the opportunity I would nail the throttle and thank God afterwards too.

I had one ride as a ‘monkey’ on a racing sidecar and being inches from the track surface multiplied the sensation of speed. The next best thing is cloud-skimming in a HS748 at 240 knots.

  6. 257 MPH? Yowsers! I’ve done 120 and that was plenty fast for me. If I have to get there any faster, I’m leaving earlier.

  7. BERLIN — Germany’s Transport Ministry has criticized a stunt that saw a Czech millionaire drive his high-powered sports car along a public highway at speeds of up to 414 kilometers per hour (257 mph).

A video posted online this month shows Radim Passer pushing his Bugatti Chiron to extreme speeds on a stretch of Germany’s A2 Autobahn between Berlin and Hannover

    1. BERLIN– Germany’s Health Ministry has criticized a stunt that saw a Czech millionaire enter a restaurant without a third CoVid booster vaccine.

A video posted online shows the millionaire enjoying a meal of wienerschnitzel and spaetzle washed down with a bottle of dry riesling. Said millionaire was not wearing a mask while partaking of his dinner.

It’s interesting what some people choose to get upset about. The man broke no laws.

  8. You motorcycle enthusiasts might want to go to youtube, search “Isle of Man TT”.
    Your welcome 🙂

    1. Glad to hear McPint is back where he belongs this year. And that they’re televising/streaming the thing properly.

  9. Driving a Honda, 850 GSL in the scorching summer heat, heading south just before Lake Okanagan Resort. Long, wide open highway with a sweeping right turn, long golden grasses sticking up on either side of the highway.

Just before the corner, as I was near wide open at close to 120mph, every sensory mechanism in my body was on high alert. Out of the right ditch came one of the huge Okanagan grasshopper/locust beasts, flying from right to left. I let off the throttle and moved closer to the right side of my lane, as I had no intention of hitting that thing at that speed, and it was in line with my chest and/or head.

It slowed it’s cross of the highway and headed right at me. All I could do was lean agressively to the right I watched that ugly insect as it came into contact with my clutch handle, exploding as it hit the bare knuckles on my left hand. It felt like I was hit by a glass hammer, knocking my hand off the handlebar at near 100mph. The violence of the impact, knocked my handlebars to the left, putting me into a bit of a speed wobble. I used my right foot to apply the rear brake, correcting the wobble, but the sweeping corner was beginning, so I had to lean once again to the right, very aggressively. My bike had drifted to the left far enough that the grasses in the north bound lane were beginning to whip my left leg.

I was extremely fortunate that my ticket was not punched for my exiting this earth that day, haven’t been at those speeds since that day in 1997. Don’t suppose I ever will.

  10. Fastest I’ve ever done is 230km/h on Hwy 101 between Halifax and Kingston, NS back in the early 90s. My little Integra’s engine was screaming. Didn’t do it again because I didn’t want to burn the engine out (lots of hills) or get into an accident (lots of drivers who stopped in the middle of the highway to admire the view).

  11. My top speed was in a rental car in Germany and I only reached 205 kmh. Gotta say that it was tough to keep to 100-120 kmh when I returned to Ontario.

That excludes a trip to Vegas and driving a Lamborghini on a closed track.

  12. You are juvenile idiots. Mommy is taking away those toys now, as lease agreements are not ownership.

Girls like big c@cks, not fancy cars.

  13. You haven’t experienced excitement or speed until you hit 182 kph in a Pontiac Wave, 1.6 liter five speed, and maintained it over distance.
I know a certain gentleman who managed a trip from the Albian Sands, main parking lot, north of Ft.Mac for those who aren’t familiar with Alberta, to small town Crossfield, 90 km south of Red Deer, in exactly six hours in that Wave. The first ninety kilometers in pouring rain.
This gentleman tells me that my Mazda 3, two liter, six speed, will only do 200 kph and then gets shut down by the computer. He also informed me that my 88 Fiero GT will go to the pin on a good day but really needed better headlight covers or needed them taped down,as they had a tendency to pop up at higher speeds. We also discussed several nose cone mods that might possibly add an extra five to ten kph, if I so desired, but I’m good with the stock look.

Back in the day this gentleman would have kicked the passenger out and gone even faster in that fancy car. Weight is everything when searching for speed!
