  1. A blast from the past: Slow Boy, the pilot episode of the NBC TV series Police Story:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT31ocB7Mq8

The weekly series ended in 1977, followed by a number of 2-hour TV movies. It was an anthology and didn’t have a regular cast, though some of the actors who appeared in it were in several episodes (I believe Vic Morrow played the same character). It spawned at least 2 spin-off series, Police Woman (starring Angie Dickinson) and Joe Forrester (Lloyd Bridges).

I was an undergrad when most of the episodes were shown on CBC, but I saw many of them during the summer re-runs and, a few years later, when CBS showed them as part of its late-night show during the early 1980s.

They certainly don’t make ’em like this any more. Unfortunately, it looks like only the first 3 seasons are available on DVD.

    1. Come to think of it, I think there was a regular character in the show. Scott Brady (who played the sheriff in Gremlins) appeared in a few episodes as a bartender of an establishment where many of the patrons were police officers.

      1. Sometimes we have nothing left but anger and being polite is no longer adequate or acceptable.

    1. Are you suggesting that people are vulnerable to cult tactics?

Are there any other current examples of cult tactics being used to influence society?

      1. Have you not heard the chants?

“The vaccine will stop COVID; the vaccine will lessen COVID symptoms; the unvaxxed are spreading COVID; we need more new restrictions; we need new curfews; we must be locked down again…..”

  2. An Australian court has quashed the decision to cancel Novak Djokovic’s visa and ordered Canberra to pay costs and let him go free.

    1. But Sphincter Breath Trudeau lets the Illegal Border Crossers into Canada without being tested. AND, they get an RCMP escort to their prepaid hotel!

    2. And Sphincter Breath Trudeau doesn’t buy groceries. Think he gives a rat’s ass if fresh vegetables become unaffordable to many Canadians?

  3. Focus people. Advice was sought on menu items. The ribs are great. The meat loaf is to die for. Be careful of the curve ball bun tosses.

  4. It’s a viable business model. Ever sit down at a Dick’s Last Resort? It’s a bit of fun.

    1. Dick’s Last Resort

Is that another name for a Prinz Dummkopf policy?

  5. Building back better…
According to Calgary’s “progressive” city government…

“The problem is we’re not overbuilt; we are under-demolished,”
said Trent Edwards… co-chair of Calgary Economic Development’s real estate sector advisory committee.

“That’s why the big focus for us working right now with the city is to try and remove the vacant office space.”

This is the end result of the Green Agenda.

      1. Trent Edwards, moonlighting as the co-chair of Calgary’s real estate advisory committee, spends his days as COO for Brookfield Properties.
I guess the downfall of Canada’s energy industry is opening up some very cheap, very well-located real estate for some big Liberal-friendly Toronto firms to capitalize on.

I wonder if Brookfield has any other high-profile Climate Crusaders helping them to capitalize on the wreckage of Canada’s energy industry?
(Answer: Mark Carney, Vice-Chair of Brookfield Asset Management)

  6. Where is Justin hanging out these days? Is he holed up in the Cottage or at the Harrington Lake resort?

  7. Lambert’s is a treat. One of the VERY FEW restaurants I will wait in line to get into! Food is great, service is great, atmosphere is outstanding. If you leave there hungry it is your own fault!!!

  9. My Business Will Boycott the Metaverse. Yours Should Too | Opinion

“We know that too much time online increases our blood pressure, and makes us more anxious, depressed and obese. Now, we also know that when children use digital communication extensively, it can curtail the face-to-face experiences necessary for them to develop and master important social skills, as well as drastically reduce their attention span. I believe the metaverse headset will be the smartphone on steroids.”

    1. That was from a couple of years ago. I remember Xi on the other side glaring at him. Likely still sore from the chipped tooth.

    1. The good news is that those are almost always (almost I know) children of liberals and ghetto. Darwin will not be denied.

  10. My neighbour has throwed rolls from time to time. He leaves the house and she stands in the doorway hurling rolls at him with the intensity of a pitching machine.
“ Here’s your supper you assh*le. When you come back from visiting your little whore I’ll have dessert for you. “
Short women have a lot of anger.

  11. While I’m not religious, I do enjoy a good bible passage taken completely out of context now & then. 😉 I do particularly like the thitation from Chronicles and can think of a particular lithping J-name that cold eathily be thubsthituted…

“As every good Christian knows, the best way to study the Bible is to scroll through Instagram and read out-of-context verses that uplift and inspire you! The Babylon Bee hired its scholars to scour the Bible for the most encouraging, quotable verses they could find, just for you! Be sure to share with anyone who may need an encouraging word today! “

    1. I’m reminded of a joke I heard in church many years ago.

A certain man always liked to pick random Bible verses for his daily inspiration. One day, he leafed through and his finger rested on a reference to Judas hanging himself. Thinking he made a mistake, he tried again, this time it was Luke 10:37: “Go and do likewise.”

    1. As has already been noted, I plan on getting a plain jane Baked Potato bobblehead, then hanging it from my truck mirror with a noose. Maybe I’ll shove a syringe up his arse for good measure…

  12. Have eaten at the Lamberts in Sikeston Mo. many times over 30yrs. Anything that they have on the menu is excellent. Be careful to not fill up on the rolls before you get your food, they are very addicting!

    1. Texas Roadhouse stateside has a similar problem. They serve all you can eat fresh bread with whipped cinnamon butter prior to the meal. Now I’m drooling…

  13. Buy a sparky car, and use it to power the Grid:

From CFact: “The UK technology enacted also enables the rationing of electricity for EV charging because the UK government can decide when and if an EV can be charged, plus allowing the EV battery to be drained into the UK grid if required.”

I’ll stick with my diesel SUV, thanks

  14. I have eaten at Lamberts in the Ozarks, the rolls are really, really good! I love fried catfish, and it’s best in the South, so give it a try. (not fishy, not muddy, very, very nice!) They offer a bunch of sides to pick from, so lots to choose from and try. There will be a lot of food, so go there hungry!! Enjoy!!
