Same in Vancouver. 3:30 AM. Sick, very cute, 25 lb. cavalier and snarling muslim on the way to an emergency vet hospital with bloody stools. I said something unkind, loudly (like, “my sick dog is not going in the trunk; she is going in her crate in the back seat, as she needs me. Nothing she has will affect you; just get me to the hospital right now”); I even brought a towel for the taxi, said nothing racist, but no tip.
He whined to his company about the evil white woman with a dog, as perhaps, his wife is too frightened to ever challenge his views. The cab company put me on a forever “no call” for my phone/address, so I switched to another company (which employs more diverse drivers) and always now ask for a dog-friendly driver. That seems to accommodate most sh$theads in my city and self-selects Canadian muslims who like/own dogs and other drivers.

You can drive along Eglinton Ave East in Toronto and think you’re in Pakistan. There is a mosque on every corner, none of the businesses have English on their signs, the women all have bags on their heads and the men all wear pajamas. The Caliphate is here in our own backyard.
